Good enough for 30 oz steel tumbler
It has not been easy to find a 30 oz stainless steel vacuum insulated tumbler. I'm glad that I purchased this as lightning deal for a reasonable price or I may have sent it back.Like: It is steel. It is 30 oz. It fits in car cup holders. Lid is see-thru with a large enough slot for the wide rubber straws I prefer.Dislikes: (1) Bare bottom. I guess I hoped/expected for a rubberized bottom to make it skid resistant. (2) Having an imprinted logo. It almost looks like I got this tumbler free from some conference where one of the vendors is Royal Flask. (3) Not sure how well it really keeps drinks cold. I left this in the car with a good amount of ice in my soda. Given that it's about 100F outside, I did not expect all the ice melted into the drink an hour or so later. If the seal in the lid remains tight, then I will consider this a good purchase for $12.75.

Great thermal cup.
I love this cup and love that I didn't spend $45 dollars on a Yetti.

Virtually Identical to my YETI in both style and performance
I was eager to get this 30 oz Royal Flask insulated cup to compare it to the 30 oz yeti I purchased in December. Immediately upon arrival, I started inspecting both cups side by side. Below are my observations:SIZE COMPARISON: Both ramblers are marketed as 30 oz although hold more on the lines of about 31-32 ounces of liquid. The Royal Flask rambler is a tad bit taller than the Yeti and visually, looks bigger. I stuck both ramblers on a scale to weigh them and yeti actually weighed about .1 more than Royal Flask, but it turns out that the lid on yeti is just slighter thicker. After removing lid, both ramblers weighed in the same at 32 oz.PERFORMANCE: Leaving the liquid out, I put 10 ice cubes in each cup and stuck the lid on. I left both cups on my kitchen counter. By mid day, each cup still had all of the ice in there. Quarter way through the day there was a little melting, but both cups still going strong with all 10 ice cubes visible. By end of the day, ice was melted in both cups. The next day I performed the same test with half the cup filled with ice, and half with room temperature water....Both the yeti and Royal Flask had equal amount of ice cubes that lasted throughout the entire day. To test how long the Royal Flask kept my coffee warm, I filled it up midway with hot coffee at about 9am and by noon, my coffee was still hot. I have never actually used my yeti for anything but cold drinks, so can't comment on how it compares.STYLE: As you can see from my photos, both the more expensive brand (yeti) and this more affordable brand (Royal flask) look almost identical to one another. As mentioned above, Royal Flask is slightly taller, but design of both cups are virtually the same. The "Royal Flask 30oz" logo is on this product and yeti's logo is less visible and blends in with the stainless steel cup. Personally, I prefer the yeti inconspicuous logo instead of the logo being navy and visible. The Royal Flask logo on there feels more like a cup a company would brand and give out as marketing material. Honestly though, for the difference in price between the two cups, I can get over the design. That detail is really insignificant in the grand scheme of things being as these cups performed exactly the same...and at the end of the day, it's really just a cup. I suspect eventually, with enough times being washed, the logo will come off due to wear and tear.LID DESIGN: Both lids are very similar with a hole in the top for a straw. YETI lid is slightly thicker. Between the two, I prefer the Royal Flask lid because I found it easier to put on my cup.MY CONCLUSION: Unless you are someone who needs a brand name product to feel cool, this Royal Flask insulated cup is the way to go. At about $18-$28 cheaper (depending on where you purchase the yeti), Royal Flask is also the more financially savvy way to go. When I say that both the brand name and off brand rambler are basically one in the same, I am not exaggerating. I literally could not tell enough of a difference between the two that would make me want to spend more just to say I own a yeti. Besides, I am a trendsetter anyway, not a follower lol. My boyfriend always wants to argue with me that nothing beats yeti, so getting this Royal Flask and doing my tests with him watching was awesome. I finally got him to admit I was right...for once. I did receive this cup at a promotional price in exchange for honest feedback. Really happy I tried this product out as it will be saving me loads of money in the future!

Comparisons between this tumbler and the Yeti Rambler
I compared this Royal Flask Tumbler to the Yeti Rambler. I hope my review will help you make a better informed purchase. I like to read reviews to glean as much information as possible not already provided by the description.Capacity:The Yeti and this tumbler, heretofore referred to as RF (for Royal Flask), hold the same amount of liquid. It actually holds 32 oz, but once you put the lid on, it would overflow. So I think technically with the lid on, they could probably both hold 31 oz, but the companies probably went with 30 oz. because it's a nice round number.Weight without any liquid:Yeti weighs 14.2 oz, add the lid it comes to 16.35 oz, so just a little over a poundRF weighs 13.35 oz, with lid 14.95 oz, just under a poundLabel:Yeti has a nice embossed emblem on the side, lid and bottom of tumberRF has black printed label on the upper half of cup. On my tumbler, the label was already scratched and faded in places. I wish it didn't have a label at all, I think it would look much nicer. I think it will look much worse over time with normal washing and 'wear and tear'.Lid:Yeti has a thicker plastic lid with a black gasket around the inner rim. The Yeti is slightly more resistant to pry off, 2.2 oz in weight.RF has a thinner plastic lid with a clear gasket around the inner rim. I just noticed the product picture has a black gasket, but mine is clear, 1.6 oz in weight. The lids fit interchangeably. They both angle downward to prevent pooling liquid in the lid, nice feature.Shape of tumbler:They look very similar. If you're looking for a Yeti knockoff, few people could tell the difference (except for the black label of course). The RF has softer curves from the base of the cup to the wider upper half. The Yeti's graduation from the slim base to the wide upper is steeper, so you get a better hand grip. The softer curves of the RF gives it a slightly more slick feel.Height:The RF stands a hair taller than the Yeti.Packaging:I received the Yeti as a gift from a friend so I don't know exactly how it is packaged but when I got it, it had a coffee sleeve like cardboard label around it.RF came in plain white cardboard box.Straw opening:The Yeti does not have a straw opening in the lid exactly. It has a gap for sipping water and you can fit normal size straws in the gap. I have a Bubba silicone straw that I squeeze through there. The RF does have a straw opening for fat straws along with the sipping gap. I really like this feature as I prefer fat straws and it fits the Bubba straw perfectly.Okay, now for the test. How cold does it really keep your water?I put 10 wedge shaped ice cubes in each tumbler along with 1 cup of room temperature tap water. My original goal was to mark exactly how long it took for the ice to completely melt in each tumber. I tested the Yeti, RF, and my 32 oz Tervis tumbler. At the 4 hour mark, all the ice had melted in the Tervis. At the 8.5 hour mark, both the Yeti and the RF still had ice with the ice a bit more melted in the RF. Unfortunately, my results were inconclusive as it was now 1:30 AM and I wasn't gonna sit around waiting for ice to melt. Well I forgot all about it until exactly 24 hours later at which point all the ice was now melted. I decided to go ahead and take the temperature of the water anyway. The Yeti came in at 55 degrees and the RF came in at 57 and the Tervis at 70. My house was kept at 73 degrees. I know because I'm running the a/c in February, in Houston TX. If I get around to it, I'll run the test again, earlier during the day so I can tell you exactly how long it takes for the ice to melt in each tumbler. My final conclusion: The RC is a very worthy knock off of the Yeti. The differences are minute at best, with the RC only slightly under performing in the cold test. I mean, what's the difference of 2 degrees? The only serious point of contention is the black label. IMO, I think the label makes it look cheap but if you don't care about how it looks then I think you should consider the RF because the lower price point makes it worth it. If I hadn't received the Yeti as a gift I don't know that I would have bought it, that's a very expensive cup. The RF is more in my price range and I do really like that straw hole.I received this product at a discount in exchange for a real and honest review.
