Nice blanket
I've bought several of these in different patterns and colors over the last few years - all of them have been very nice. Thick enough to keep the chill off or as a layer in cold. Edges hold together well, no fraying so far. Size is queen with no real overhang so on a queen with 2 people you might find them a little smallish. If they come out with a larger size I'll be buying a few more. Good value. Not scratchy, especially for wool.

Great porch or deck blankets.
They are great quality, really warm, feel heavy and cozy when on lap but cold up small. They are soft and not itchy. Highly recommend. I liked these so much I bought 2!

Excellent Quality, Beautiful Blanket, Great Value
MADE IN THE USA!! That almost says it all. This blanket is truly beautiful - we ordered the blue plaid; the color is really nice. Compared to some other woolen blankets, the value of this one is unsurpassed. It can be machine-washed (but not dried); or dry-cleaned, and they make sure you can use it right away (no need to wash-off harsh chemicals first). Very thankful to find Arcturus! For the price being charged

Warm, not scratchy
Great blanket. Does have an odd smell at first. Not bad enough to complain about, i just hung it from my deck for a day and its gone. Well made, warm as toast. Will get another for sure.

Nice blanket, terrible smell
This blanket feels super high quality and is seriously warm. I've been sleeping with just this blanket in my very cold bedroom during winter temps. Fits a queen mattress reasonable well - you can't tuck in the sides but it will cover 75% of the bed. However, the chemical smell is even worse than I feared. I've had it unwrapped for a week now and the smell is still strong enough that I can smell it on my dog 8 hours after we got out of bed. Had to take off my bed to hang up, and it's still not clear of smell after 3 days of hanging. Pretty gross. Would be a 5 star product without this issue.

YES! THANK YOU ARCTURUS!!!
This is the blanket that I've been looking for! I have been waiting for a thick wool blanket to use outdoors in Summer, fall and winter for outdoors and camping! This is a great addition to my pack, and will be used to keep me WARM in the winter! This is thick, and heavy! Definitely great quality, and I'll keep this in the family for generations! Thank you Arcturus!

Almost 2.5 years since purchase. Warm, colorfast, high quality, sturdy, and washes well.
I bought this blanket in September 2021 and I'm writing this review on February 3rd, 2024. The photos were also taken on February 3rd, 2024. I still love this blanket. This is an extra blanket I only bring out on extra cold nights in the South, so it does not often get used. It's outstanding for heat retention capability. It's 80% wool and 20% synthetic.I finally had to wash it this past week when our cat puked up a hairball on it. I washed it the same as I did a wool army blanket I had from 40 years ago...lukewarm water, delicate cycle, machine dry delicate. Aside from detergent, I used Oxyclean in the wash water too. It's red...I didn't want it to turn my next 3 loads of laundry pink (It did not). It survived just fine even though I obviously didn't follow the instructions exactly (see photo).Like any good wool blanket, be aware that it WILL produce a huge amount of lint on it's first washing. This is a result of the washing and not the drying. No major surprise. The lint comes out in the dryer lint trap, though I had to run the dryer a few times after the first wash to collect all of it. It did not form "pills", it just created loose lint, which is perfect. When done, I brought it outside and gave it a good shake to ensure I got the lint off and there really wasn't any left. It survived the wash/dry really well and remained very colorfast. It didn't shrink. The photo above is a closeup of the blanket AFTER washing, so you can see the overall condition afterwards.Overall, none of this is a surprise to me with a good quality wool blanket. Would I buy it again? Yes, in a heartbeat! Warm, colorfast, high quality, sturdy, and washes well.

Almost excellent.
The Good: Lovely weight oversized throw or light blanket. The weave is nice and dense and it’s got a nice hand feel for wool (the perks of being a blend). Very versatile little blanket. Washed very nicely and hang dried within 6 hours. The Bad: There’s a few inconsistencies in the wool yarn, pulls and small loops that needed to be clipped and worked back in. The blanket also sheds copious amounts, especially in the wash, though that’s not wholly unexpected for wool. I used a brush and glove to remove the majority of the loose fibres and it’s pretty good now.The Ugly: The smell. Holy Hannah, the smell. Like someone is laying blacktop in the room. It’s aggressive. I aired the blanket out for two days hoping it would help, but rather than dissipating the smell began to permeate other things in the room! I gave up and tried washing it with wool wash, which did help considerably, though I can still smell it a little. I’m hopeful it will come out in the next wash.Edit: Washed it a second time using regular woolite laundry detergent and it came out great. It still shed a fair amount, but not as much as the first time. After a nice long spin on high it held its shape and air dried beautifully. The smell is still not what I would call pleasant, but it’s not offensive anymore either. Next time I wash it I’m going to try some scented lanolin emulsifier cubes I have left over from my cloth diaper phase and see what happens. All in all, I would totally recommend the blanket for the price.A year later: Totally great. No weird smell at all. Still washes beautifully, but only needs it occasionally. It’s become my car and camper blanket because it stands up to abuse and dirt (small kids and big dogs). My sister also bought several (both in the plaid and solid gray) and hers arrived without any major smell, so it appears to be luck of the draw. Hers are also excellent.

Really great adventure blanket.
We keep one of these blankets in the car for adventures and emergencies. Great if you have a dog. We have a couple more for cold nights or movie nights. The kids love them to sleep near the wood stove. Really tough, good looking and warm.
