Bulbrite KR40G16CL 40W Krystal Touch G16 Globe Chandelier Bulb, Candelabra Base

I got these to replace some Allura Soft White G16.5 bulbs I had in two chandeliers in my house. I loved the lamps but they were a little dim for the rooms; I despaired of finding anything brighter after discovering that those Alluras I had were actually near the top in terms of lumens emitted by a G16.5 size bulb.However, "near the top" is not the same as being at the top. These Bulbrite Krypton bulbs blaze with the fury of a thousand suns. They're a good 200 lumens brighter -- each -- than the ones I had before, which in a 9-bulb chandelier adds up to a lot of light. My lamps have gone from "a little dim" to "glad I have a dimmer switch."Out of 20 bulbs, one arrived broken. Considering as at Amazon's price and free Prime shipping I could lose 25% of them in transit and still have them come out cheaper than any other vendor I've found, I'm satisfied.

I have a nice goose neck lamp with a shallow glass conical shade. I needed a chandelier base bulb that was not the typical flame shape (and would therefore pop below the shade bottom level--not pretty). The lamp is for accent in a corner of the dining room, can be left on for safe passage through when other lights are out. The lamp won't take a high wattage bulb, nor is more needed for this task. This bulb I'd searched for-- and was glad to finally find. As stated in title, it's just what I wanted.

I am a Maintenance Director at a nursing home with 170 residents.I have been purchasing these bulbs but I have stopped because I seriously question the 3,000 hr life rating.I have bought hundreds of bulbs both 1,500 hour ones and these, and I see Zero difference.Don't waste your money on these!

They work, and none were broken, but they are far from "bright white". They look just like the faded yellow bulbs I meant to replace. They are not any "brighter", nor are the "bright white" on the color scale (less blue than daylight but more blue than soft or warm white).

The bulbs arrived as scheduled and I installed 3 bulbs into a bathroom fixture. One bulb blew out immediately - as of now (about 3 weeks have passed) the bulbs have performed as advertised and the brightness is about the same as the previous halogens. At this point I've rated them 4 stars. I'll update this review after some more usage time.

i just put 8 of these in 2-4 bulb hunter ceiling fan fixtures. they are clear and bright for their small size. we'll see how long they last. big, bright improvement in a 16' by 24' room, plenty of light, no more dim room now. my old stock general electric ceiling fan switch offers low and hi for the lights of both fans, saving energy.

These cost double what they would have in a hardware store. Although that might be an acceptable tradeoff for the convenience, the quality of the bulbs was inexcusable. Three of the bulbs came apart while I was screwing them in. I am surprised none of them had shattered, considering how poorly they were packed.

We put this bulb into a warmer that melts wax fragrance in a dish and it works as well as the bulb we replaced.

Bought for an Ikea bathroom fixture. Works perfect. No dead bulbs yet.
