Rosa Parks (National Geographic Kids Readers, Level 2)

My 5 yr. old granddaughter enjoyed me reading this book to her. I love the pictures, there are words that are important in the book which are explained/given the meaning of on the page separate from the body of the text. I love that! I have purchased two other book is by the National Geographic and will buy more. I can't state enough how much this book has help explain civil rights and segregation on a level where my kindergarten grandchild could understand what Rosa Parks did and who she was.

I teach 1st grade and ordered this book as part of my Black History Month and Women's History Month units. My students were fascinated with Ms. Parks. The book is too high for them to read on their own in a center but worked well for whole group discussion. The photographs were good and the text was broken into chunks which made for quick reads and discussion.

Good book for getting child reading about Rosa Parks. Very entertaining, level of reading 1/2 grade!

My daughter is fascinated with history, so I purchased this magazine for her to devour. She loved it, it has so many cool "facts" spread throughout the pages as well. A really fun read, with beautiful colored pictures and print. Very well designed and layed out.

My daughter was learning about Rosa Parks in school, so I purchased this book for her to read at home. I enjoyed reading it with her and it gave us some talking points to discuss while reading it.

This book was well suited for my 6 year old and was the start of a really interesting and important conversation. Another great book by National Geographic.
