The lanterns are predictably very lightly constructed...they require great care in unpacking, attaching the fuel source, lighting and releasing...that’s a function of something made to fly with a small heat generator.The packaging is patently false. I bought this item based on the claim of “wire free” and “100% biodegradable,” as noted on the packaging picture...the lanterns have a wire cage for the fuel source...unless you count in millennia, this is hardly biodegradable.Amazon should compel the vendor to tell the truth...buyers like me try to purchase items meeting ethical standards...this is NOT what it claims to be.

I have bought many different fire lanterns, they are not all made the same. These were, by far, the easiest to set up and to get up in the air. Very well made. Perfect fire lantern. If your not sure, take my word for it, Buy these lanterns. You won’t be disappointed!

I used these for my mother-in-law’s memorial service. They lightened the mood and I know my mother-in-law was up there laughing at us. Each person wrote a message to her before lighting and releasing. I called the fire department beforehand and they gave suggestions to help the release stay safe. Also called air traffic control and they just verified we were not within a mile of any airport so there would be no problem with release from that standpoint. These lanterns really help all of us in so many ways.

I bought a pack of 10 to have extra to practice on before out actual event. Each one of them lifted perfectly! I will say the 80 seconds wasn’t long enough for them to lift. Each one was was about 2 min and some had to be held longer than others but regardless all flew. When writing on them and with the kids writing on them almost all ended up getting small wholes and rips. One had to be taped and they all still lifted. I am very impressed and happy that I didn’t need the rest to practice on.

Worked perfectly. Make sure to light it and keep it down on the floor (outside) for about 60-90 seconds then once you see it start to form n feel it rise, guide it upward with your hands then let the magic kick in! They are beautiful to watch up in the sky!!!

I wish that there was information to check where you live allows you to release these lanterns. Maybe it does & I missed it. I wish it was LARGER INFORMATION ON CHECKING WITH YOUR COUNTY. I bought them to do over the River & thankfully I googled it. I had to have a permit that takes up two weeks to obtain. If we would have lit them & something went wrong. Like burned down a home. I would have had to pay for damages. I shouldn’t have trusted if they can send them & it’s over water it’s okay. They are so cool but it was a real bummer.

After this trying 2020 year with covid and all. I bought the for a outdoor gathering we had with a very few family members we made our wishes for the new year know it was so much needed for each of us. I love them so much I gave them out for Christmas gifts to other friends/family so they could do the same. They arrived quickly and easily assembled.

Fairly easy to use. Started a new tradition this year. So I ordered a package of these because for New Year’s Eve we wrote on the lanterns. We put what we were grateful for, what we are letting go of for the year and goals for our new year. We were delighted when they were lit and flew off into the evening sky! Very fun activity
