Taste and texture were disappointing
I like traditional rolled oats cooked on the stovetop and have been looking for an instant oatmeal for when i am in a hurry. Other instant oatmeals I've tried have generally been over sweetened. I had high hopes for the "Cant beet Chocolate" flavor. Unfortunately, i did not like it.There was no oat flavor and no oat texture. The base is mush with the added chocolate bits as well as clusters of chia and dates. The extras were nice adding little bits of crunch and sweetness but couldn't overcome the overall blandness. I tried varying the amount of water and steep time but that just gives you the choice of thick mush or thin.Normally, i would buy another package to see if i got a bad batch but at ten times the cost per serving of other brands, I'm not willing to take the chance.

Good for skiing
Got a sample in a subscription box for the apple flavor and was out of food one day before skiing so decided to try it. I ended up having to park really far away and hike up the lot with my ski gear. All i had eaten was a bit if this oatmeal so was expecting my blood sugar to crash but it didn’t. I bought a big bag of the chocolate beet and eat this before skiing now. It is expensive but provides so much energy and I find I can ski for hours without getting hungry when I have this.

Quality Worth Cost, Filling and Delicious
I love these oats. At first I was skeptical about spending so much money on prepared dried oatmeal (in comparison to the off-Quaker brand or DIY-ing it every morning), the quality of the product impressed me and was definitely superior to any prepackaged oat mix I have had in the past. I felt full and healthy after eating them. Like most oatmeal they kept me full through the morning and were easy to eat at my desk or at home on the couch, but without having any of the sugar crashes that come from the other apple and cinnamon prepackages oats. Price is worth the quality but will likely be rotating them with my other go-to breakfasts in order to make a pouch last as long as possible.

Taste not good, get their bars instead
Gross! I can't believe you could make oatmeal taste so bad. The apple cinnamon tasted like cardboard boxes cut up with some apple skins, and the rest are worse. Couldn't finish more than a few bites. Disappointed I wasted $$$.

GREAT for Backpacking
LOVE this oatmeal. First go it when it was introduced on kickstarter. Tastes great, good energy, satisfying and filling. Bought the 4 serving size packet as part of our food supply for when my husband and I are backpacking the Chilkoot trail. Less trash than the individual servings. Will really look forward to a hot bowl of the Picky Oats Beets and Choc either on chilly mornings or after a rainy trail day!

The best instant oatmeal ever
Being a runner, I use Picky Bars to fuel my runs. In my local running store I saw this Picky Oatmeal so I gave it a try. I was skeptical because I have never liked instant oatmeal. A convert I am, now. This oatmeal is scrumptious and filling. I only make 1/2 of the package serving size. With fruit and skim milk added, it gets me thru an early morning into a late afternoon lunch.
