When the delivery arrived I did as I always do with coffees I know I’m going to review. I opened the box, inspected the bag, opened the bag and took a really deep sniff of the coffee. This Mayorga Artesano coffee exhaled an enticing bouquet of aromas, I took another deep inhale through both my mouth and nose, something I learned from world class tasters judging spirits. I couldn’t resist. I emptied my grinder, rinsed and dried its parts and my Moccamastet carafe, grabbed the zero filter filtered water jug and I brewed a full pot. What a terrific homey, warm taste this coffee produces. As it’s brewing it blooms wonderfully and the aroma fills my entire place. The taste does the same. I make the coffee the same way I do all the coffees I drink, a scoop of powdered cream a scoop of Splenda a vigorous stir then it rests till it’s cooled to drink temps. The earthy mocha amber brew that filled the carafe was a celebration of flavors. Just terrific. I wanted more after it was gone. And since, when I start to get the 3 o’clock blues, I hit the button on the grinder and start an afternoon brew. I appreciate flavors, not because I am an expert, I appreciate flavors because I slow down and take the time to experience the flavors without any preconceived ideas. Taste is relative to the taster. For me, this will be a buy again and again. Terrific.

The coffee is excellent and AMZ had Very fast delivery. But for the Umpteenth time, AMZ warehouse sent old stock, which means dry beans. I give up on AMZ sending fresh coffee, and purchase from the source. I’m giving 4 stars because Mayorga is a great company with excellent coffee and it’s not their fault AMZ over buys then ships out 6 month old stock coffee- repeatedly. 5 stars for Mayorga 0 stars for AMZ Warehouse.

First, I want to highlight the excellent customer service from the Mayorga customer service representative. I reached out stating that I wanted a more freshly processed batch through Amazon to the organization. While the coffee was fine, as a coffee snob, I prefer a more freshly roast.The customer service representative was quickly to respond from Mayorga and sent me another bag on the house, freshly roasted with an additional sample.That’s what I call customer service and making sure the customer is fully satisfied.As far as a coffee. It’s a medium blend from multiple South American countries, which gives it a nice robust, but not overly bold flavor but an very favorable cup from this quality roaster!! I plan to order more coffee in the near future.Just to reiterate, the coffee that I got initially was only three months old from Amazon, and that is Amazon rotating the coffee not Mayorga.I highly recommend this roaster/company as they have variety of light, medium and dark roast that’ suits all the needs from a pour over, drip and espresso. Wonderful smooth organic medium roast I've ordered 34 times! I'm writing this review as I'm frustrated with Amazon's delivery since December. Always it's not been a problem to receive this along with many, many Amazon orders at our address even though this address is not listed according to the USPS. This is common in rural areas I've heard. Anyway since December Amazon keeps sending me messages that the order is delayed and to check the address. The address is correct but yet the delivery is delayed for days when other Amazon orders are meanwhile arriving as usual. So that's my complaint, not about the coffee, about the delivery being delayed.

I have purchased this product several times. This is definitely one I rotate into my selection of coffees on a regular basis. The flavor is balanced, good strength, and tastes great when plain or mixed (cream, liquors, etc.) One preference is just a slight dab of maple bourbon at the end of the day just to relax.Always provides a pleasurable coffee experience, regardless of strenght brewed.

I am a long-time lover and very dedicated buyer of the Mayorga Cafe Cubano and decided to try this one - based on the many other positive reviews - just to make the comparison between the two lines for myself. Both claim to be medium roast but the Cubano is, much to my preference, roasted a bit darker than this Mayan Blend.My entire system is sensitive to light roast coffees and this one just hits me wrong. It seems more acidic, has a bit of forward sourness on my palate, jolts me as if it's more highly caffeinated, and just doesn't sit well at all on my stomach. It tastes and acts just, exactly like a light roast for me and, if it didn't say "Medium" on the label, I'd swear it is one.I am an early morning, daily, "2 mugs" coffee drinker and I prefer my brew made moderately strong in a french press to keep in all the hearty goodness the beans can offer. I love medium to dark roast (right down the middle!) and definitely will not be changing from the Cubano to this one. I brewed it several different ways and strengths and it just never hit the right buttons. Sorry to say, it's just not for me. To me, Cafe Cubano is clearly the hands-down winner.
