JFA Medical Pill Grinder/Crusher - Crushes Multiple Tablets/Pills into a fine Powder

I was using the plastic crusher but my hands are not always able to do it now without pain. So I found this and thought I would give it a go. What a massive difference this makes. My husband is peg fed and you need everything to be a fine powder or when you mix it with water and there's lumps they can block the syringe or food tube. This is a good solid item. I did find at first that it didn't crush to a power. So I kept altering the grinding action. To not waste medication, I used cheap paracetamol. Pop one in grind, then see if it is how you want it to be. Did not take long to get it just how I needed it. The pill top has loads of room so does the collection cup. Hubby has a lot of medication all pills to take daily and this has made it so easy and quicker. I put everything in at once, from tiny balls shaped, to big pills. I can't snap them smaller my hands don't allow it without pain. I am profoundly deaf so my description that follows will be "feeling the vibrations". Then I start to crush using the palm which stops the pain in my hands being as bad, the metal case and size makes it easier to hold. At first the pills seem to be bouncing and loud. Usually it catches a the most two times you can tell via the handle all you need to do is reverse a couple of times and then it will crush again. The handle will be come very easy to spin this is usually the time all the medication is crushed to a powered form. I can not express enough how much of a difference this has made. Such good value as well. It has taken me longer to write this review than crushing.

Great piece of kit, does the job with far less effort and less strain on the wrists than other tablet grinders. I'd advise practicing taking it apart before using it so you know how to reassemble it after cleaning it and making sure you don't set the consistency dial too fine, as you'll end up with fine powder which won't pour out as easily.

haven't used it yet - seems to be ok

Worked fine until a few days ago and suddenly it stopped! The tablets get crushed up top, but don’t fall to through anymore! Even if I completely loosen it for a coarser grind, it just stays up top. Why!? How!? It’s ridiculous! It’s not even worth paying more for a product as it absolutely DOES NOT guarantee you will get improved quality, durability and product lifespan. You just end up having spent more money for the same disappointing outcome. Well, I guess you’d end up more disappointed.

This item is easy to use, easy to hold, and makes crushing pills so easy. It seems a bit big considering your only crushing 1 small pill, but for someone with joint issues or issues holding stuff this works very well. There is a plastic pot at the bottom which collects the powder which is also easily removable to allow you to get the powder out the pot. It comes apart easy for cleaning, I use this daily and have no real issues other than every so often I have to re-adjust the cutting level to keep it to a fine powder. As this does become loose after a while of continuously turning the handle

This works brilliantly , I’m using it for large equine pills , I use a pill cutter first then put them in and it quickly ground it to a fine consistency . No residue in the grinder and very quick and easy to use . 100% recommend this one .

While the grinder gets the job done and might be right for you it certain situations, it basically gets the job done and was cheaper than others, there are a few concerns I have that might impact your choice. 1. The powder capture section has lots of grooves and crannies. Which, not surprisingly, trap your medication to the point that even firm tapping won't release them. This might be okay if your pills are of a large size but for smaller pills you may fine the dosage is going to be reduced. I'm not sure why the manufacturer didn't make this a single smooth edged capsule. 2. I've found I've had to break apart larger pills to ensure they're correctly grabbed by the grinding mechanism. Sure, this is probably true of all similar devices but it means that for some you're going to need a pill cutting device and of course it's another additional step. 3. Grinding goes quickly and you can feel, through the lack of friction, when you're done. However, there are again lots of areas in the grinding mechanism that can trap pill fragments. As a result you need to ensure you're giving a few taps and shakes to get everything into the grinder mechanism. You may also want to grind without the top cover on so you can see inside. Tip: You're instructed to wash this before use. Be aware that it traps water everywhere. I'd originally washed and left for 24hours to dry and still had paste like clumps on first use. Second time around I loosened the grinding consistency knob most of the way out and gave it several flicks over 24hrs to shake loose sitting water. After this there was no pasting. It does however mean you won't really be able to use this and then wash before using different medications.

Works so much better than I thought it would!! My guinea pigs have supplements that they won’t take unless syringe fed, so I have to crush them into a powder and mix into water - this does the job so well and with ease!! Like someone else said, if the tablets get stuck you just unwind it a little, they readjust themselves allowing the grinding to continue. It also allows a lot of tablets to be crushed at one time which is great as I can just crush the whole packet and then I’m done for a month.

A la primera prueba con una pastilla mediana (la que se ve en la foto de 8 mm) ha roto un trozo de la cerámica del molino (como se ve en la foto). A la segunda prueba con una pastilla mayor (que para esas quería el molino), pues NO pasa hacia abajo el molino!! NO cabe!!. Me fastidia tener que devolver productos que se tan malos... lo mejor sería ahorrarme el viaje al comercio para hacer la devolución y tirarlo directo a la basura... pero hay que recuperar el importe... que pérdida de tiempo. No se crean todas las opiniones maravillosas que ponen otros... yo también las leí y miren que chasco.
