Make an Arduino-Controlled Robot [Margolis, Michael] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Make an Arduino-Controlled Robot Review: helpful book - The reason I choose this rating once I got home and opened it up it new this book was going to help it deals with one of the motor controller I own and want to learn how to operate. it goes into detail on sensors and so far I have enjoyed it . Yes I would recommend this book for first time builders so to give you an Idea of how and where to start. good book and I enjoy it so far. Review: A must have book if you love Arduino and Robots - While awaiting the delivery of Gordon McComb's Arduino Robot Buidlers Bonanza, I decided to give this book a try, and like all of Make's books, I like it. The projects start from simple robots and progressively get more complex each chapter. While the book focuses on robot platforms one can purchase and build, the informative chapters cover all aspects of robot building, from basic electronics, to working with sensors and autonomous robots giving the reader enough information to create their own unique projects. Each chapter explains how to program the Arduino. Given how large the Arduino is right now there is a ton of information online and people willing to help, if one has any unanswered questions about any aspect of building a project. This is a book worth owning.

Fun read, greta projects
Great introduction into building and running robots using arduino microcontrollers. Well written, easy to understand. Nice intro to the world of robotics and arduinos.

Simple how-to book with very little about why
This book is written for a person who wants to do a project with very little explanation of why things work the way they do. It is difficult to learn concepts from this exercise.

Great book!
If you buy the SainSmart kit, this book will provide much needed aid. It also gives good advice on other types of robot functions and programming.

Really cool stuff. Prepare to invest in the hardware.
In order to get the most out of this book, You'll need to buy all of the parts. Once you do that, you'll get a really great experience.

Know this before you consider buying this book
Be aware, buying this book with the intention of building the robot described, that the parts list for the motor shield is woefully inadequate, and in fact, misleading: There is no Maker Shed companion kit available from Make.com. Maker Shed indicates it was discontinued sometime ago - the illustration on page 11 of the book shows resistors and capacitors that presumably come with the Maker kits but are not otherwise identified. Construction of the motor shield uses the obsolete Adafruit motor shield; the new V2 one bears resemblance to the old but you cannot tell which parts are really necessary for the shield's construction. In fact, you may not need any additional parts; the new Adafruit shield may be complete in it's own right. Won't know until I upload Adafruit's code to it. I fault myself for not reading the book very, very carefully (it was first published in Oct., 2012) and not going to Adafruit's website to see the shield itself initially. Would I embark on this project again (I'm not an experienced robotician nor a programmer) - you bet I would. I like the challenge of finding a workaround, and thankfully the motor shield and the robot platform did not cost much money.

C'est un bon ouvrage qui explique assez bien comment créer un robot simple. C'est un bon condensé de ce que nous pouvons trouver dans toute la littérature. A avoir pour commencer la robotique, ou pour de nouvelles idées.

It needs to be revisited for the new versions of the Adafruit controller. I like how is structured the programs and how to evolve the project.
