BLL-50101-2006-1PK Global Versa PRO Baggage Slam Latch - Versa M, Black

We have a 5th Wheel Trailer and it has these kind of latches in the Basement doors. Well, as it always goes, we tried pulling in the Bedroom slide while the basement door was open right under the befriend. The basement door opens so that it hits the under side of the slide and the slide caught the latch and broke it. I needed a replacement and there were no Camping World stores anywhere around so I checked Amazon. They had a couple different ones so I read the comments. This one sounded right with the key used having the right number. When it came it was not the right key, but it did fit so I installed it. Since many RV's use the same latch and the same key as in I could open my neighbors basement or gas door, I decided I'd keep it and have two different keys for that basement door giving more security. Now I've never had anything stolen in an RV Park, sometimes we stop at Walmart or some other place with the RV behind us and that is where the extra security comes in. Thanks, Amazon.

Easy to install, took maybe 30 minutes for 4 locks to be changed out. Tools I needed wereUtility knife to cut silicone between back plate and camper hatch, drill, small drill bit to drill through Rivets, flat head screw driver to help lift back plate off, Philips head drill head to replace screws and a pair of plyers to pull Rivets out. You may not need all of these tools but it's what I used.

Disappointed. Lock broke and will not lock. Lock actually comes out. To late to return.

Very adequate and virtually identical replacement for OEM part. Keying was of course different. Rear mounting plate is much thinner gage metal than the OEM part and deforms when tightening screws. Screws are shorter by half than OEM screws. Recommend use of the OEM rear mounting plate and longer screws if you have them (the short supplied screws work with the supplied plate though.) Recommend use of a low strength thread locker fluid. I might also drill the thin rear mounting plate in 2 or more places to fasten it to the door with sheet metal screws in order to keep it from sliding around after the latch is mounted and aligned. The OEM mounting plate is less likely to change position by design.First part shipment arrived with no keys or screws. Amazon promptly sent out a proper replacement before I put the defective one in a UPS drop box.Would buy again.

We wanted to keep the same key so we used this for parts and it worked out perfectly!

Exact fit replacement latch. Changed out old latch in less than 5 minutes.Old latch lock tumbler was bad. removed 4 screws and swapped out with the new latch. Quick and Easy.

Good product but not sturdy enough. The mechanism is fragile and I have to replace the baggage slam latch every two years even if I don't slam the door. The inside is made with white metal

Took 20 minutes to take out the old and put in the new.
