If you're a cook, you'll love this sink!
June 2014 Update******************Sink is still going strong. Absolutely no complaints about it. I uploaded some photos of it installed and they are located in the "customer images" area towards the bottom right of the screen here on Amazon. I hope the photos clear up some confusion about how this sink looks as one or two commenters mentioned that it wasn't an apron front sink. Nope, it's not- and the Amazon title clearly says that it is an undermount sink. It's not made to be an apron front- if that's what you want, you need a different model! The bottom and sides are a biscuit, pebbly finish (wipes completely clean, by the way). This sink hasn't disappointed. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!******************Original ReviewWe recently remodeled our nearly 50 year old kitchen. I knew I did not want another double bowl sink in my kitchen, ever again. I personally didn't like the divider because I cook a lot and the pot handles always get caught. But that's a personal preference. So the hunt began for a single basin sink! I needed one with the drain placement to the left (this sink is reversible for your needs) so that my disposal would fit as well as a pull out trash can. Those caveats made it really hard to find what I needed.I was wary of this sink because there was only one review. It had big shoes to fill. Even though I didn't love the double basin sink we had before, that thing was a tank. An older AmeriCast sink, it looked like new with a simple rub down of Barkeepers Friend, despite being decades old. I looked at other sinks three times the price of this Rohl sink, but couldn't find one with the proper drain placement. I took a gamble on this one, and wow do I LOVE it.Someone asked me about the finish on this sink: The entire inside is glazed, and the outside is a smooth finish but not glazed. The bottom is rough; picture an unglazed vase or coffee mug.I've had it about 2 months now, and let me tell you, it is a work horse! I know two months might not seem like long enough, but I cook a lot and make everything from scratch so I generate a lot of dirty dishes! I use cast iron skillets and big soup pots and I've not had a single issue with this sink. One time the handle of my Lodge skillet put a black mark on this sink, but a little rubdown got it to go away. Boiling liquids, tomato sauce, red wine- no staining issues.Size wise, it is perfect if you cook a lot, OR you just want to look in your kitchen and not see a stack of dishes in the sink as it is deep enough to hide anything you put in it. It is the perfect size for stacking dishes for loading in the dishwasher later. It's big enough to put a strainer of draining vegetables in one side and drinking glasses for the dishwasher on the other, without touching. I throw a lot of dinner parties, and two huge dinner plates sit side-by-side in this, no problem. I like to collect vintage stemware, and they sit in the flat bottom easily without tipping over. I have a smallish kitchen and this sink actually works as almost an extension of the countertop because the bottom is flat and the sides are square.I did buy the undermount kit for about $75 but my countertop people didn't need it.All in all, I think this sink is fantastic for my needs. It takes a beating and really looks sharp. People have actually commented on how much they like the sink!Good luck!

BAD PACKAGING for such a beautiful sink!
I ordered this sink as I really like it, but was concerned about the reviews regarding the packaging and it arriving broken. But happily, my sink arrived and there were no issues with it. Unfortunately, some things got changed in my remodel and a white sink was no longer going to work, so I have to return it. I never removed my sink from the packaging, I had only opened it up to check it wasn't broken when it arrived and then to put in the return slip. I then made sure the box was closed up and ready for the return. It was then I noticed how terrible the packaging was for such a beautiful sink! There was not protection around the whole sink, just the corners. The sink is super heavy, and the box is way to flimsy to support the weight of the sink. I tried sliding it close to the front door for pick and I was afraid the box would fall apart. I added tape to try and hold it together. I am just very concerned that it does not make it back in one piece, and then I get the blame for it and hence no refund. So just letting you know, it has left my house is one piece! I hope it arrives that way? The packaging definitely needs to be better!!

Disappointing for the money
We purchased this sink in 2014 when we did a remodel. I choose it because fireclay was supposed to be able to hold up to a lot and I've had nice sinks before and know a good sink is a nice amenity. The first one arrive broken into 3 large pieces so we had to return it and they sent us a replacement of the same sink we finally installed in 2015. In 2017, while washing a pan the wet pan slipped from my hands and the sink got a huge crack where it landed. I'm talking it fell like 3" and was not an abnormally large pan. For normal use, this sink did not hold up. Rohl was actually great to replace the sink for us with no fuss and shipped us a new one fairly quickly. We've had the new one installed for about 1.5 years now and the bottom of the sink is browned and stained despite cleaning out the sink every day once the dishes are done. It's a nice big sink but overall I'm disappointed in it's lack of durability to hold up to normal everyday use. I would shop around before purchasing this sink.

What could be great is just okay.
My wife was very excited to get this sink. She loved the idea of having a deep fire-clay sink like this one. We ordered it and it sat waiting for the kitchen to be finished. When the counters were installed, over a month later, we found that the top of the sink was not flat. It would not mate to the bottom of the granite counter top. Both sides were close to a quarter-inch off. The center was high. Very disappointing.So... the sink (which should be great) is just okay. Clearly a manufacturing defect. Getting Rohl to do anything about it has been frustrating. Meanwhile we are making it work by using a lot of silicone on the edges and hoping that it does not fail. This sink was mounted using Rohl's mounting system.

Beautiful and very practical
If you love to cook this is the right sink for you. It is very deep, good for washing big pots. Very practical and easy to clean. Looks great with granite countertop. Be sure to order the stainless steel sink grid Rohl WSG6307S. oh they also recommend to buy the mounting brackets which cost $75, you don't need it don't waste your money. The sink comes with detailed instructions and measurements on how to install without using the brackets. Make sure you give these measurements to your contractor before they do the template for your countertop. Looks beautiful!! I highly recommend this sink.

Misrepresented sink
Don't buy this if you are wanting an under-mount sink. It has rounded top edges. It is not an under-mount sink. I had to send it back. That was not easy. It took 3 calls to Amazon customer service to get them to approve pickup, since it had been moved from my cabinet maker's studio to my home. Ugh!

Don't buy this!
Fair warning: Don't buy this sink! It is beautiful, but the packaging is HORRIBLE. The box arrives shredded. I am locked in, as it is a unique size, and the sink cabinet was build around this mode, but I have ordered this sink 3 times, and all three have arrived chipped, damages, and in many pieces. Not worth the trouble!
