Good result once I set it up properly
This is my first ‘real’ sub. I had a computer speaker sub before that was the ok but not in the same league. For the first day or two I had this I was strongly considering returning it. I had placed it on front of the table my speakers were on and it sounded bad. The bass was not blending with the other speakers and I was disappointed. I tried messing with the crossover point, volume, and phase. Finally I moved the sub to be beside the table so that the speaker cone was in line with my other speakers and my bass problems were fixed.I’ve read in many places that bass under about 80hz is directionless. You can place your sub anywhere close by because your ears won’t pick up the difference in location. I found that to be true when I moved the sub to be in line with the speakers. Note that my listening position is about 5 feet from the speakers so having the sub in front made it about 2 feet away so that could be a big factor too.The final verdict is that the sub is awesome for my purposes once I set the crossover point and location correctly. I have only used it for music so far and the bass goes deep and is musical. I haven’t compared it to any other sub because I haven’t had or even listened to a comparable one. I did get this on sale and consider it to be a great value for the price.

Great subwoofer
Great subwoofer especially for the money. There are many very positive professional reviews on this sub. I use two of them for great clean bass.

Better movie experience!
TLDR: Powerful with good settings through the knobs. Provides better movie and music experiences. Pad wall items with tape if you get rattling. This thing is more powerful than I thought. I still need to tweak some things with my receiver, but it’s great so far.I knew movies had visceral sounds baked in, but I don’t often go to the theater so I don’t usually experience it. After the install, I threw on Rango and got a whole different movie. Intense scenes now “feel” intense. I could feel the sound moving the couch.I was not prepared for how low frequency sounds would interact with my furniture/wall decor. There was rattling. BEST PROBLEM EVER. Be prepared to buy little rubber feet to stick behind stuff against the wall. You could also cut up the foam it came packed in and put up the pieces with rolled up tape for padding like I did.Music sounded great. I usually use headphones, my Audio-technica m40x, for listening so I get a decent experience, but not the best. Hearing and feeling bass out loud is nice and I think this sub adds something good if all you have are shelf speakers.

Auto On Doesn't Work Correctly
Edit 10/20/23:I now have the sub hooked up using the speaker inputs and outputs, and the same issue. I did find if you turned up to volume it seems to eliminate the issue. But I use my system as background music in my home office and it's just too loud during working hours. In the new pic's the one with the red LED is at soft volume, but crank it up a bit and it finally turns on, second pic.Original Review:Let me first start with: The sound is great. I like the built in crossover so you can tailor the sub to your speakers. The quality of construction is solid and I'm sure will last a long time. The only negative I see so far is the power switch. It is a three position switch, On, Auto On, Off. My set up, I am using the RCA inputs to run the audio. When in the Auto On position and I turn on the amp, the sub turns on but (here is the bad part) the sub at points during playback will shut off for no reason. I don't want to have to turn it off when not in use (for many reasons, one being where the sub is located it's not easy reaching the switch), so with the Auto On function being flakey at best I will have to struggle in order to save electricity by manually turning it on and off every time.As I typed this review, the sub cut out again while in Auto mode, the pic attached clearly shows the power switch in the middle (Auto) position but the power light is red, it's off. I know I can't prove the music is actually playing with a picture, you'll have to take my word for it.

Exactly what I wanted and more
Excellent quality sub for music, movies, or anything you could possibly need a quality sub for. I'm extremely pleased with both the build quality of the box and the driver on this subwoofer. It has more than enough wattage to handle the driver with plenty of power to spare even when turning it to its max volume, which I don't recommend doing. I was able to easily connect my studio monitor speakers to it using a regular speaker wire that I had already had available, but there are plenty of various options to get it connected using all of the audio inputs. I have been into audio since being a kid in the 80's, I have Bose headphones and I use other very high end audio equipment. This was a great Christmas present from my partner this year. I will definitely be purchasing more Polk audio equipment in the future. If you're looking for a quality subwoofer for a reasonable price then Polk really did a great job making this. You won't be disappointed if you appreciate good audio.

Excellent bang for the buck
Outstanding value for a quality sub woofer. I have read many so-called professional reviews and they do not tend to give high praise for this sub woofer, I feel they are all wrong this sub is a wolf in sheep clothing. Pack a lot of bass in a small package. Once you have set it up correctly it is amazing, setting it up does take trial and error as every room and every audio set up is just slightly different. I viewed a few you tube videos on the setup and once I found what I consider the perfect setup for me I'm blown away how well this sub hits, perfect for action movies, you can really feel and experience great sound.

Good subwoofer for modest price
Using the subwoofer with a new Sony a/v receiver and some existing speakers I have. The product allows me to have a great control over bass frequencies vs the passive subwoofer I previously used. A great deal for the price.
