I mainly purchased this unit for the edges. The edges are perfectly shaped for sharpening small serrations. In addition, the flat side is perfect for removing the burr on the back of a serrated edge. You can't beat this for the price. If you are new to sharpening, using this item freehand could lead to some frustration. With prctice this could be a very effective field/pocket sharpener.

I use the lanksy mini dog bone for most of my touch ups but wanted this one for my serrated edges. Good product. May be a bit too big for a key chain (for my liking) but easy to stick in your pocket or bag. I love having a sharp knife always, and this little tool keeps them so. Comes with me on all camping/hiking trips.

I love it after few uses. It become my primary sharping tool. Working great with my s110v, vg 10, and other cheaper steel.

A nice small sharpener that can tackle various blade types; straight, serrated, long (machete), axe... I've been using it without any honing oil, or water; I'm not sure if in fact that would even be recommended. I'm sure YouTube or various knife forums might yield an answer. Please remember the sharpener does not have any angle guide assistance, so you have to be somewhat familiar with sharpening a knife aka with a whetstone.

I bought this to sharpen fish hooks, but for it a better tool to sharpen my pocket and filet knives.

For the weight and bulk, you cannot beat this stone. It is NOT suitable to apply to an edge to unfinished steel or an edge that has been badly damaged. It is specifically designed to keen an edge before, between, and after uses.Like most tools, if used properly and for it's purpose, you will achieve optimal results.

For sharpening fish hooks it my be a little to fine to quickly sharpen a hook

This is a great tool to touch up my pocket knife after use, puts a very sharp edge with minimal effort.

Lansky makes tremendous products .... have carried this sharpening tool in my pocket for over 20 years. I recently lost my original one and this is the replacement. Every bit as good...

Also für den Endschliff meiner Messer outdoor genau das was ich wollte. Bringt ein echt scharfes Ergebnis. Wird wieder gekauft, da ich an meinen Messern Taschen hab wo es rein kommt.

Affuteur en céramique grain moyen. Ne prend pas de place dans un sac et permet de réaffuter correctement une lame sur le terrain. Les surfaces plates et les arrêtes permettent de travailler sur une lame lisse ou avec serrations. Pour le prix, il est bien pratique.

Basic small stone but does the job if you are patient and practiced. A good quality stone, does not wear quickly.
