Big fan of this brand for the price.
My fiancée and I found this coffee to be smooth and flavorful. A great whole-bean coffee; you get coffee shop depth and taste for less than you’d pay for Starbucks, Peet’s and Stumptown etc.

Beware-dark roasted
This is much darker roast than described. Too dark for my tastes.

Unique blend of light roast and dark roast beans
“Henry's House of Coffee | HoC Blend | Medium Roast Coffee | Whole Bean 12oz Bag” is a unique blend of light roast and dark roast beans.* FreshnessI ordered this coffee on November 10, 2020. There was no Roasted date on the package, but Best By date on the package was April 1, 2021.* PackagingCoffee was in a durable foil-lined bag with a vent valve and wire sealer on the top part. On the back, there was a big sticker with Best By date hiding founders’ story (see photo). Not only it didn’t make sense, it also concerned me that that sticker can be so easily peeled off and possibly replaced. It would have given me more confidence as a consumer if they had printed the date on the package directly.* Fragrance and appearance of beansWhen I opened the package, fragrance was noticeably weaker than other coffees I have tried. But it was sweet and toasty. As the product description on this Amazon page (but not on the package itself) says, the beans were unevenly roasted, that is, some beans were very light roast, some are medium roast, and others were very dark roast (see photo).* Brewing methodThere was no brewing instruction on the package, so for the first cup, by pour over method, I used 13.3 g of finely-ground this coffee with 203 °F hot water to make 8 oz of liquid coffee. But it was enjoyable but rather watery. So, for the second cup, I added 29 % more coffee and used 17.1 g of finely-ground this coffee with 203 °F hot water to make 8 oz of liquid coffee. It added more bitterness but didn’t do much in terms of flavor and body. The following evaluation is for the second cup.* AromaWeak almond* AcidityWeak, but becomes more noticeable when coffee is cooled down* BodyLight* FlavorWeak blackberry* TasteWeak bitterness, weak acidity, slight tanginess.* AftertasteVery soft* CaffeineNot much* ConclusionThis is a unique blend of dark roast and light roast beans, but it didn’t seem to have achieved something greater than the sum of its parts. Lack of strong flavor and body make this coffee not so desirable to me, but overall quality is not too bad. I like acidity, so it became more enjoyable to me after it was cooled down.

little sweet, a little tang (acidity), and a mellow finish, light leaning medium
hmm, a medium roast made by blending light roasted beans and dark roasted beans together. That piqued my interest, but i have to say I was concerned that the brightness of light roasts would come through and possibly make for an acidic coffee. I prefer/love deep dark roasts but will drink a balanced or dark leaning medium. Even medium roasts can be too acidic and bitter- so I was definitely taking my chance on this. It's pretty good-- but not a repurchase. My taste buds pick up a little sweet, a little tang (acidity), and a mellow finish. It leans a little light for what I consider to be a balanced medium profile, but it is still pretty good. Quality is not at all in question. I think it comes down to preference. So I say go for it if it at all sounds good to you.
