Sophisticated yet casual style, my favorite belt.

Ive purchased several items from Colonel Littleton.The products are unique,rare/hard to find.It is somewhat of a throwback in America of high quality hand made items made in small towns across America.Other items I have purchased are almost heirloom likeThey've got the shipping down pat---no problems.I was actually impressed with high quality packaging.Each shipment has included a small bit of lagniappe-coffee,coasters,a moon pie--someone really puts a lot of effort into packaging and shipping

I delayed writing a review, as I really wanted to like this belt. Unfortunately, it's not for me.I opted for this belt as my weight fluctuates, and the adjustability was appealing. I typically prefer Saddleback belts, but am currently between sizes and previous ones do no fit.The leather in this belt is thin. Nowhere near Saddleback quality (yet this belt costs more).People say the adjustment claws don't bother them. This has not been my experience. They dig into my waist, especially when sitting. I think from a design standpoint, the claws should face outward, not towards the waist.While the thickness of the leather itself is underwhelming, what also bothers me is the leather appears to be painted.Could flake in the future.I feel at best this is a 50 dollar belt. After having owned it for a while, the initial 100 dollar price point is not only not worth it, but it's somewhat insulting for what you get.It's a gun sling. Yes, we all know it's modeled after one, but I expected superior quality than a literal gun sling.It's painted leather, like a gun sling.It's thin and cheapish feeling, like a gun sling.And it's utilitarian, like a gun sling.Worth 100 dollars it is not.

I bought my first belt like this when we discovered Col Littleton's shop in Lynnville last fall. I ordered two more for my grandson's for Christmas. Full grain leather and real brass will look great for many years.
