Works great
Don't bother with the chains and j hooks. I used some small bar clamps to hold the master cylinder adaptor down. No leaks and job done in no time.

88 to 98 Chevy/GMC truck. My key to making it not leak.
I read all of the reviews and this is what I came up with that worked for me. Looking at the chains, they were a little light I thought. I had a little heavier chain and installed the flat plate on top of the plastic brake fluid reservoir. I tightened the wing nuts until I thought I might damage the plastic reservoir and stopped right there. I'm guessing that the heavier chains helped to pull the plate down without stretching and kept the plate from leaking. I do think some additional refinements need to be made like making a bottom plate that would go on the bottom of the master cylinder and stretch out wide as the top plate to hook a longer J-Bolt to it and not even use the chain. This would help to keep the chains to not be at an angle. But, it was worth the money to me and I got the brakes bled and didn't have to use the wife. She liked that part too.Regards,M. SkeltonTexas

If you need to use the plate, keep looking...
Ok, so I bought this because it came recommended by my mechanic, he did say however not to use the chains because they are useless, just get some clamps, which I did. The problem is that black rubber seal that is underneath the plate is almost the same width as the reservoir. So as you can see in the pictures you really just can't get a seal at all. I have wasted more dot 5.1 on my floor and it's eaten away more paint than I like to admit. I actually thought there was an issue with my brake lines. However it's just the unit itself. I could never get it above 10 psi and at that point it would just start leaking fluid everywhere. So I stopped using fluid and went back to just trying to get a good fit and every time there's just air pouring out of the sides of this reservoir, where it is supposed to seal. I cannot recommend this in good faith. I do hear that griot has a system that's similar but at the tire side, using your compressor to create a vacuum and sucks the fluid through. This has caused me a lot of headaches and I'm completely annoyed. I'm going to send this back, I just can't do it anymore.

This is my second motive bleeder I have purchased I love them.
I been using my first motive bleeder for nearly 15 years, I purchased a new one for use at home. The new one has several improvements to the first and it is still working. Only problem I have is the plastic hose will wear out. I replaced mine years ago with better hose.

Recommended for multi vehicle use
A really great brake bleeding kit! A little pricey, but when you see the quality, and what it comes with, well worth it! I also recommend this kit with the multiple vehicle adapters (see factory website for applications). I have used it on a variety of vehicles, and it works GREAT! Recommended.
