Bought this trash can and spent WAY more than I was comfortable with because it was “pet proof”. The photo proves that this is indeed not the case. Don’t waste your money!!

I will mention what I like first - the fact that my trash bags don't get stuck when I go to take them out. My trusty motion sensing trash can pooped out on me years ago, so I finally decided to replace it with this guy. I wasn't immediately sold on it, as it's a bit shorter than the can I was used to, and because of it's somewhat rectangular size I can no longer just open my dishwasher without moving this can. The motion sensing was fairly weak which I also didn't love, but the first couple weeks' worth of removing full bags to replace them without wrestling my can into submission, I decided that I could live with this and finally sent my former can off to the landfill.And wouldn't you know it, it was right about that time the motion sensor decided to quit, which is pretty frustrating to say the least. I've changed the batteries, turned it on and off, nothing works. Of course I can use the little push buttons to open and close the can, but that defeats the purpose of a touchless can. Having a new can with a working motion sensor was the ONLY reason I purchased this can and now it doesn't even work, and I still don't really completely love it.

Works great! Better than any other I’ve seen on the market.My old jerk of a dog has found the key to get in this garbage can though. He flips the whole damn thing over like he’s got super dog strength and head butts until the top is fully off.But, as long as your dog isn’t a too smart and slightly psycho lab, this product will probably work great!

Bought to keep my dog out of the trash. I love the lock on it, luckily my dog hasn’t figured that out. It’s nice that when you go to dump something you don’t have to lift the lid or look for a foot pedal. Just raises up when you’re over the sensor. No mess.If you buy this to keep a dog out of the trash just remember to lock it. I read some reviews that were bad because the dogs figured out the sensor. Mine has as well, just not the lock. I used to have to lock my trash can in the bathroom, it’s nice to have it back in the kitchen again.

great product. Based on other reviews I did want the adapter and one was delivered with it. It didn't work for more than a day, but it was very promptly replaced with another adapter by the seller. Great customer service. Great trash can. PS. If you start out with batteries and move to an adapter , remove the batteries before you plug in the adapter. Seller told me having both in the unit at the same time can short out the lid to the can. I didn't go through that, but was grateful for the warning.

These trash cans are great. I have two for the kitchen, and they save me a lot of time washing my hands because I touched the trash can. Mostly though I got these because my lab is really good at digging in trash cans, so I have to have one that locks. These do lock, but at the end of the day I don’t need to worry about that because he can’t lift the lid like he could on our old trash can. And so far he hasn’t been able to trigger the motion sensor to get into the trash can. My only complaint is that sometimes the bags are are hard to get out and the trash has to be shoved down into the bag, I guess because there’s a sort of vacuum in there? I don’t know, but they look nice in the kitchen and I don’t have to worry about the dog going to the trash buffet anymore.Our smaller dog is actually freaked out by the lid when it closes on its own, so there’s that, lol.

it works better than I expected. Read many reviews before I placed the order. Found one star review were given mostly two years ago. So gave it a try. It's responsive. Lid opens faster than others I saw before. Hopefully it can work for a long while.

The motor to open and close it lasted two months.Now it's just a trash can that can be locked.Just do yourself a favor, save money and buy a regular trash can.

I was not excited about spending this much on a trash can, and my husband was very displeased that I did, but after a week, he changed his tune and now loves the trash can, and so do I. It's super convenient, there's no odor when it's closed, and bag removal is a DREAM. They just slide out with barely any effort, because someone finally had the right idea and put airflow holes in the bottom of the can to prevent the suction battle you get with normal cans. Excessively pleased with this trash can, I would absolutely buy it again and frequently recommend it to others.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I love this product! I bought this for my new kitchen and it looks great! My husband said to me the other day how much he loves especially in our new environment of Covid-19. I will buy another one if this breaks. One tip I bought the one with the ac adapter so no batteries.

Motion detector doesn't work if placed under the counter. Had to cover it and we're using the open/close button. Every small disagreement though. The size is awesome, it's very rare, an automatic trash can that size, and it's perfect for us.

We got two of these. They're everything we needed. The four stars is because there are styrofoam imprints on the stainless steel on one of the bins. Tried to get it off with just water, and with water and soap, but the marks are still there.

Very quiet operation. Motion detect is not overly sensitive, but doesn't hinder performance.Downside us opening is a little smaller than expected, but not a deal breaker. As long as it lasts for a few years, this will be a good unit. Pleased so far.
