Gownies Post Surgery Mastectomy, Breast Cancer Recovery Robe with Internal Pockets

I love love love this robe! I bought a lot of stuff to prepare for my mastectomy - most things I didn't use at all, some things I used for a week or two, and this is the only thing that I will use for years. The material is a soft cotton knit, thin enough that it's lightweight and breathable, but thick enough to be flattering and not see-through. There are 4 pockets inside which are placed perfectly for holding drains, but they lie flat and are totally invisible from the outside when empty. And there are normal side pockets on the outside which are actually a reasonable size.Losing things that made me feel young, independent, and pretty has been the hardest part of the process for me, and most of the products on the market for post-mastectomy care are, well... not very helpful with that. This robe has a timeless feminine cut, some decently cute prints, and I was able to put it on without help after surgery - what a breath of fresh air! Most importantly, it doesn't feel like medical equipment - it was great for after surgery, but it's also just a nice normal robe, perfect for re-integrating into regular life after cancer or whatever condition your surgery is treating.I highly recommend this robe for any average-sized adult with feminine or neutral gender expression who is having chest surgery with drains. Because of how it buttons high at the waist, I wouldn't recommend it for people who prefer a more masculine style.

This robe is perfect. I purchased for post breast reduction surgery and it's wonderfully comfortable while also not contributing to excessive sweat like other robe materials. It's heavier than I expected but not in a bad way, it's just a fact. The inside pockets have been invaluable and the pockets of the outside also help. My only suggestion would be to size down as it's larger than I anticipated but I haven't regretted this purchase at all.

This robe is extremely well-made and comfortable. I ordered it in the XL/XXL size, and it was true to that size. Bigger than I needed, which would’ve been a L/XL. Anyway, I would’ve rather it been too big than too small. It washes well, and served it’s purpose for my recovery. If you need this, it’s a very good one to treat yourself or a loved one to.

The robe's thoughtful design proves its worth during post-surgery moments when comfort and ease are paramount.The front closure at the waist strikes a perfect balance, ensuring it doesn't impede the surgical staff's examination while providing coverage when standing.However, I deducted a star due to the need for extra buttons at the bottom. While the robes effectively covers while standing, additional closures are essential for maintaining privacy when laying down or sitting. This minor inconvenience may necessitate pairing the gown with shorts or leggings, particularly when worn outside the home.I strategically included these robes on my surgical wish list for friends and family looking to support me, and I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions.

PROS: Flattering cut, quality, length, overall functionalCONS: Weight is little much.Purchased this to use while in the hospital. I used this as a robe. The arms are very roomie. Even though I had an IV, I was able to put my arm through and the tubes were not restricted. I am using this during my recovery and loving it. The inner pockets are exactly what I need.

Almost everything about my bilateral mastectomy I want to put in the rearview mirror. This robe is an exception. It is comfortable and the drain pockets made life much easier. Most of all, though, it is well made and I felt pretty wearing it. On the emotional roller coaster that followed my surgery, it was everything to look in the mirror and like what I saw. I’ll be keeping this!I chose one size up just to have roomy comfort following surgery. It can be cinched with the drawstring.

Much nicer in person. Feels well made and nice, thick fabric.

This robe is great, just the right weight to be comfortable around the hospital and house, the interior pockets are so helpful to hold the drains. I didn’t realize how extremely soft and comfy it was until I took it off after 2 days to wash it and had to wear my regular PJ’s that felt so rough on my skin. It was nice to have a pretty robe to wear during this time to make myself feel a little better.

So happy I bought this. Easy to get into and out.

It is helpful in holding drains especially if you have the large ones but it us a very heavy robe and would be best maybe in the winter.
