A real eye-opener
This book is the story of the people who lived here before I did. This is the story of slaughter, death, destruction, loss, and finally resilience of a very diverse group of people. The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians have a wonderful silver lining to their history; in spite of unimaginable loss and suffering, the held on to their true identity and stood strong. The story of these peoples is profound and powerful, and a must-read for everyone who lives in the Pacific Northwest- especially Oregon.I cried and I was moved. This is a very good book and very important history to know.

A great contribution
Excellent book. Quite comprehensive, with photos and strikingly informative maps. Here's to the author and his associates for the research they've put into it, and here's to the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde for commissioning this important work. (Their museum is pretty sweet, too!)

Oral history recorded :)
This book is well written and contains the collected oral history that has been passed down to our present day. Very lovely.

Highly Reccomended
Tribal history as it should be written. This is a scholarly work written at the request and with the support of the Siletz Tribe.

Great information.
Great book about my tribe. My only complaint is that the Amazon driver did not leave us a note telling us that the book had arrived. It was outside behind a plant pot and arrived completely soaked.
