My head was literaly buried in this book for hours!! I couldn't stop reading. Violet and boy's tricky and danger filled awesome and amazing adventure has literally taken away my heart with it. I've read the whole series - a place called perfect, trouble with perfect and the battle for perfect in just a week!! I'm the biggest fan ever of these series and ofcourse of Helena Duggan. One request i have for Helena is that please please PLEASE write more book on their adventure. Please don't leave them and us like that! Violet is a brave hearted girl and i wish i was too. A Nearly Perfect Story
As the name suggests, Perfect is a place filled with perfectionists. The only aspect that makes this place actually stand out is the fact that everyone who comes here, has to wear glasses to stop themselves from going blind. As soon as you leave perfect, this blindness will wear out and you will get your vision back. Why does this happen? To figure this out, Violet and her family moved to Perfect. Follow Violet through her adventures with Boy, her new best friend, with whose help she unravels the mystery and saves Perfect from the evil masterminds behind this.

Brilliantly crafted, well-paced plot
A Review for TeachersWhat a debut novel by Helena Duggan! Everything from the rose-tinted spectacles to the bravery of our heroine blew me away. I smiled so many times at the sheer genius of the concept and the wonderful way it's written. When Violet Brown moves to Perfect, she soon realises that something strange is going on. The tea she drinks, the glasses she has to wear and the rules she has to live by are just downright weird and Violet isn't happy about it. Before long however she meets Boy, who opens her eyes to the town's secrets and lies, and persuades her to uncover the truth about this so-called perfect place.A Place called Perfect sent shivers down my spine. The dystopian twist to the tale was superb - how something as innocent as tea could be the downfall of a community is expertly woven into the plot. I liked Violet, but I loved Boy more. I became so invested in his quest to find a family, to feel as though he belonged. And if you're after two villainous characters, you can't go wrong with the Archer brothers. Creepy, nasty and downright murderous, they fit the 'villain' description extremely well.I am a true fan of character-driven stories, but found myself torn between the characters and the plot that became thicker and thicker as the story moved forward. What I do know is that I can't wait for the sequel, as I'm desperate to know how the next part of the story unfolds.A Place called Perfect is a book that a Y6 class will love. The genius storyline will have the whole class gripped and waiting, with baited breath, to find out how it all ends. Brilliant, just brilliant.

Je recommande ce livre pour ceux qui souhaite débuter la lecture VO. C'est une lecture jeunesse, facile à comprendre. En plus de l'histoire, la livre est magnifique

An unforgettable adventure
This story is fast paced, action packed & full of wonderful messages for children & adults alike. The lead character Violet Browne is courageous, witty & most importantly accepting of all the people she meets along her way, despite them not been perfect!!!I have to say this is the first book that I've read in ages where I had no idea where the story was going from one page to the next and I loved every minute of it! Helena Duggan has a remarkable imagination that had me hanging on every word. I couldn't put the book down and I agree with the previous reviewer in recommending this book for a movie.
