Great for mounting photos etc. on painted (or unpainted) surfaces
You never need to worry about removing this from any surface. It leave no trace, does not discolor the underlying surface and hold photos etc quite well. To use it you cut or break off a piece of the substance and work it to soften slightly and form a small ball of it. Use what you need to support your photo or whatever on a surface and use yuour thumb to press it on. That's it! To remove, just lift the item and remove the substance for REUSE. Yes, it is reusable. As I say, it leaves no trace on enamel or flat paint. It sticks to metal, plastic, glass, tile, just about anything. Very useful.

When you need something to adhere, but glue is too much.
I liked the fact that I could use just the amount I needed for a small job, and save the rest for later. In the house we bought, old telephone outlet plates no longer stayed in the dry wall. There was just enough wall to accept the putty to allow the cover to attach to the putty and cover the hole. I had thought I might have to get a paint pen to cover the putty, but that was not necessary. Now that I’ve seen how easy this putty is to work with, I will be looking around for other jobs it can perform!

Great product with multiple uses!
I guess, I’m somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to hanging artwork or photos on my walls… I hate seeing crooked frames, so I use this mounting putty to hold the frames level. It’s soft when first applied, so I can place a little in the bottom corner of the frame, and using a level, make certain my frame is perfect before pressing the corner to secure the putty. Voila! Perfection! My daughter used to use it to hang posters in her dorm room in college, since students weren’t allowed to use nails. When removing the items, the mounting putty is easily removed without damaging the walls. NOTE: Mounting putty does have a weight restriction when using it solely to hang items!

It's nice to use to hang light items.
I have always liked using Mounting Puddy. I use to buy it from this duck company and it was more of a brand name for 2-3$, but recently it went up to 5.60$ and wasn't worth the purchase anymore so I decided to get this instead. I have always liked Scotch Products such as the tape so was worth a shot to try. Definitely would get again, but make sure to use it on light products only because sometimes it doesn't hold the best depending on where your hanging it on/from. Other than that it works good enough and does have it's flaws but still works. Recommend this product again :).

Good
works perfectly. never have issues with stuff falling since it’s extremely sticky. also never have issues with paint ripping off either and it’s definitely worth the money because a little goes a long way and its very easy to use.

This held really well, but ate my drywall.
I bought this to put up 2 posters to help with our daily schedule. I wanted to stick mini post its on the front of the poster board and then wanted to use it to tack the poster to the wall. After having not received all of my order due to the shipping package being cut open and my tack falling out, Amazon graciously replaced it for free. I was thrilled that I received it and put it to use right away. This week, after having the posters up for several months, I decided to take them down to redo the schedule. In taking them down my drywall ripped off and now I have chunks missing. I do not recommend putting this on new drywall. Our house is only 4 years old, so this is a bit of a disappointment. I highly recommend for tacking decorations to poster board, but not to drywall.

Okay for light things
Don't try to hold anything with ANY kind of weight even a small picture frame, IT WILL fall. Also if left on wall too long it will tear off paint when removed

Holds up well
This putty keeps my decorations up on my cider block office walls.
