Worked great. Less is more
Deglazed quickly and crosshatch pattern was created without problem . Used 850 rpm drill, initially used 5 slower strokes then followed by 5 rapid strokes to finish .Also Bought their honing oil-little slurry resulted.. Only downside -One “berry” broke off during use and had to meticulously clean up abrasive grit/small chunks( from berries slightly striking intervals -done with engine block still in car and crankshaft installed-so be aware of that possibly happening!) out of crankcase using hot water and detergent-NOT brake clean . I had to Hacksaw Cut to length the twisted cable shaft, in order to fit into the rear engine bank cylinders.- due to the little room to stroke. I taped over block deck coolant and oil holes and wrapped and folded paper towels over connecting rod journals. In short, Made a typical complicated honing job (ie remove engine and strip of parts ) relatively simple.

Plateau hone, and
Used this #400 for a plateau hone on a 1968 911, 3 passes that’s all it took. Works great, used chrome plated cast iron rings(all that I could find these days) used the 240, 8 passes. Achieved pretty good oil control right away. Love these hones

Easy to use
Very easy to use. Lubricate well and use correct rpm. Online tip of moving very quickly to get good crosshatching works. Don't forget, only for use if cylinders not out of round. Very impressed with this hone.

Best price I could find on this tool.
I actually have not used this flexhone tool yet. I was in contact with the Brush Research company and they assured me that the 3 1/2 inch will be the correct size for crosshatching the cylinders of a 4.6 litre ford modular engine. Time will tell !
