I cannot get enough of this book ! I love everything about it! I also purchased Monsoon Afternoon -good but this is my favorite ! Beautiful illustrations-love to see all the saris !! Waiting for My Mama wears a Sari!

This book is lovely. The lush colorful illustrations pull my daughters in each time we read it. The warm story about the love between grandparents and grandchildren and the passing along of tradition and memories is pitch perfect. We've taken it out from the library so often, I finally realized I had to buy a copy for my girls. We are not of South Asian background and yet this book speaks to my children. Love it!

Beautiful book that reminds me of my grandmother and honors the traditions of wearing a sari!

I love this book. My daughters love the story and illustrations. I have given this bool to many of my friends as presents.As a second generation indian-american it is nice to pass on our culture to my children.

I bought this book for my great niece whose paternal grandmother is from India. She and her father have enjoyed the book.

Such a sweet story! It’s on repeat. Whilst it is a children’s book, I think it would equally make a thoughtful gift for anyone of any age to make them feel warm and fuzzy about the special people in their life!

Very touching and nicely illustrated. Reminds my kids of their own late grandmother and almost seems like it was written just for them.

As a non-Indian family, this book brings to our 3-year old a colourful hint of Indian culture, told with wonderful charm, heart, and storytelling.
