Works Amazingly!
My new Rapthor 3500mAh battery arrived well packaged and undamaged. Included with the new battery was a T6 Torx driver, a small plastic prying tool, and a small instruction booklet. I read previous reviews before attempting to change the battery. Under the suggestion of several reviewers, I chose to use my own T6 Torx driver as a number of reviews indicated the T6 Torx driver included with the battery was of cheap quality and had a tendency to strip the heads of the screws. I used a Craftsman T6 Torx driver which worked perfectly! I tried using the small plastic prying tool that came with the battery, but like many other reviewers, I decided to use a butter knife or other sturdy, thin item as my prying tool. The instruction booklet is small and the print and pictures are very tiny, but I was able to make out the pictures and read all print. You may want to take pictures of the booklet information and magnify that information if you are having difficulty with the small type. Overall the instructions are well written and easy to follow. I highly suggest you read through the instructions at least a couple times before attempting to actually replace the battery. This will help you to fully understand each step of the replacement process. I also took pictures, prior to disassembly, of each step. This may come in handy during reassembly or if you happen to wonder where a particular piece belongs. The first step is to pry off the end caps of the speaker. This is where the prying tool comes in handy (or your butter knife or other small, flat tool). It does take a some force to "pop" off the caps. I loosened the cap by running my prying tool all the way around all 4 sides of the cap before using more force to actually "pop" off the cap. Once both side caps were off the speaker, you then have to remove the the Torx screws with the T6 Torx driver. The screws are tightly screwed in place, so don't be surprised if you have to use some force to remove them. You will notice they are screwed into a plastic casing. The only issue I had with the screws and plastic casing was when I removed the screws holding the grounding plate in place. One of the plastic casings holding the grounding screws crumbled, but I attribute this to the age of my speaker (it is over 10 years old) and plastic has a tendency to become brittle with age. This will not affect the functioning of your speaker should you encounter the same problem. The rest of the disassembly went well. I suggest you have some needle nose pliers handy as removing the plastic power clip (the one that has the red and black wires) is a little tricky since the clip is positioned just below the level of the circuit board. The needle nose pliers made removal and replacement a breeze! Prior to removing the red and black wires attached to the plastic clip, make note of how the original red and black wires are positioned on the plastic (note how they are positioned around the plastic prongs). You want to be sure the wires are not "pinched" when you reassemble your speaker. I used double-sided sticky tape to hold my wires in place so they would not move during reassembly. I also used the double-sided sticky tape to hold my new battery in place (you will note that the old battery had sticky tape holding it in position). The tape will help keep your new battery in place while you are reassembling the case. Once the battery was replaced, I just reversed all the steps to reassemble the speaker. My new battery came 75% fully charged, so I was able to test it immediately. It worked GREAT! I let it fully charge and it has been working perfectly ever since. Prior to battery replacement, my speaker would not hold a charge....the old battery was completely dead. I could only run my speaker off the power cord. Now that I have my new battery in place, I have run my speaker for about 6 hours of continuous use and my battery level is still nearly fully charged! I HIGHLY recommend this battery!Packaging of Product Upon Arrival: EXCELLENT!Quality of product: EXCELLENT!Ease of Battery Replacement: GOOD (There is considerable disassembly and this may intimidate some individuals)Instructions: GOOD (The instruction booklet is small and the pictures and print may be difficult for some to clearly view)Overall, I am VERY satisfied with this product. My speaker is holding a charge like it did when it was new!RDM

Well Built, High capacity and a piece of cake to install. 10 yr. old Big Jambox JAMS AGAIN !!!
Just take care with the screwdriver and it works great. if/when it does strip, hit it with a fine metal file to flatten tip again. One thing not mentioned in the instructions, YES, included instructions, in English...is the 2 tiny little o-rings that fit under the ground brackets on base. Not a game changer, but they may be for vibration proofing the ground clamp by sub woofers. Also make sure to orient the battery in the same position, taking note of the battery circuit board not blocking re-install of base.Honestly, alot easier than it sounds. Just take your time and lay out screws exact as they are removed and shouldn't have a problem. The battery itself come nicely packaged with tools and color instructions with pictures. Charged up in a couple hours and used for 3-4 hrs. Still almost fully charged. Saved me from having to bust out another $300 for a new one that sounds as good as this one.Definitely recommended.P.S. While apart, cleaned it up and re-painted the cover. Looks and Sounds Like NEW !!!

fits like a glove!
The media could not be loaded. directions are clear and simple to understand for people who are at least somewhat mechanically inclined. just be careful not to drop any screws inside the unit when re-assembling. Very reasonable option for breathing new life into an old speaker. video is speaker with new battery installed.

Surprisingly pleased.
I bought this battery a year ago. I put off dealing with it until recently. Although taking the Jawbone apart was tense and somewhat involved, I completed the task and, Boom! It worked. Even before completely charging it!The only comment I have is that the direction’s pictures could be larger, but they were detailed enough for a 68 year old retired English teacher to navigate. An added plus were the tools included to complete the task. Now, I’m just waiting for a full charge.

Brought my dead Big Jambox back to life!
I installed this in my Big Jambox in about 30 minutes. The included torx driver and plastic pry tool were high quality and all I needed to get the job completed. I couldn't be happier with my purchase! The battery level out of the box was 70%. I charged it to full and have been listening to music on and off for a couple of days now and the battery is still showing full. Great item!

as advertised; new life!
The instructions probably were good enough but I had questions. I got on Youtube and of course, everything was made clearer. It appears to have longer life between charges. It fit perfectly, just like an OEM piece. It came with all the necessary tools. I'm glad I was able to keep my Big Jambox alive. I use it daily in the kitchen with an iPad and it goes camping with me every year. I recycled the old battery at Staples (and Best Buy takes them too.)
