The one year later review...
The short: these are a very good value and have exceeded my expectations. After 2 New England Winters, these mittens continue to surprise me. They aren't contractor grade by any means, but they are ideal for general outdoor use. If sized correctly, they will allow for a glove liner to provide additional protection. I've found them to be true to size relative to how all other gloves fit my hands. I normally wear a size Large glove and these mittens aligned with that fitting while also allowing for a thin liner if needed.I initially purchased these for running in the shoulder seasons and they work very well for that. They are equally suited for Winter activities like hiking/walking and photography. Being fleece, they aren't ideal for wet environments, but I've used them several times for shoveling/snow blowing without issue. When they do get wet, they take a long time to dry out. As a result I purchased a 2nd pair to cycle between for daily runs since in more moderate temperatures my hands sweat in these. They have survived several wash/dry cycles without any sign of wear. The convertible design is executed very well. It is simple to fold off and on, providing finger dexterity when needed (there's a separate 'hood' for your thumb). There is a velcro square on the back of the mitten to hold the convertible top in place when open. This design isn't perfect, but 'good enough'. When left open and secured to the back of the mitten, the top has a tendency to come detached when running, but I'd prefer the light weight approach of a velcro square to any type of hardware fastener. The only trade-off with these gloves is if you happen to wipe your nose/face with them, the velcro patch on the back is uncomfortable and scratchy.Very good product.

warm & thumbs can be finger less or not
These gloves are just what I was looking for. They are warm fleece material. Not to thin & thick enough to keep hands warm. i am a women have large hands large size was just right. like the ability to have finger less thumb if i want. they have Velcro to hold mitten when using finger less. I work at home in winter hands get cold using laptop but need finger less to type. these gloves work great. will be buying another pair for daughter

Functional with Velcro Quirk
I recently tried the Winter Convertible Gloves with Flip Top Mittens, and overall, they proved to be a functional and versatile solution for cold weather. Here's a breakdown of my experience:Pros:Excellent Warmth: These gloves effectively kept my fingers warm in 30°F weather, providing ample insulation against the cold. The polar fleece material contributes to their cozy and comfortable feel.Versatile Convertible Design: The flip-top mittens are a brilliant and practical feature. They offer the flexibility to switch between fingerless gloves and full mittens based on the level of protection needed, adding versatility to the design.Cons:Velcro Snagging: The Velcro closure, while convenient for securing the mittens in place, tends to snag on various fabrics. This can be a bit frustrating, especially when trying to handle the gloves near other materials, potentially causing wear or damage.

Was as I expected - very good!
Used these - they were warm and comfortable. My injured, bent finger felt comfortable and warm. It's great that the mitten part folds back and latches when not needed, but is warm when it is needed! Would definitely recommend.

Warmer than I expected.
I've been wearing these with glove liners underneath in some pretty frigid conditions, and they work better than I expected. They are not super-heavy fleece, so I didn't think they would keep my hands warm, but they work significantly better than most of my pairs of gloves, with the added bonus of being able to flip one open to extract dog treats on my walk. They are now my go-to dog-walking mittens. They're roomy enough to be able to add a hand-warmer into the palm on really cold days. And they're easily washable. They fit well and are really flexible, so I can actually do things with my hands. The only thing I don't care for is the flip-open thumb, but it might work for others. I find that my thumb doesn't stick out far enough when I open it to be of any use, and they tend to open themselves due to motion so my thumbs will suddenly be exposed a little bit. I'm planning on just sewing them shut.

Kept My Hands Warm and Allowed Me to Use My Fingertips for Touchscreens
The gloves performed their job well while I was in South Korea during the freezing winter, keeping my fingers warm. I appreciated the concept of separating the fingertips, allowing the use of touchscreen devices. However, the fingertip covers have Velcro attached, enabling you to flip them back and secure them to the back of the glove. The Velcro becomes problematic when reaching for a pocket, as it can get stuck to the clothes if you accidentally brush your glove against them. I believe a better design would involve using buttons instead of Velcro, although that may present its own set of issues with magnetic devices. Perhaps a plastic button could be a viable alternative?
