SG500 SG1000 Waste Ink Collector Unit Ink Maintenance Tank Box for Sawgrass Virtuoso Sublimation Printer SG500 SG1000 SG400 SG800 and Ricoh GC41 Maintenance Tank

When I took out the spent Sawgrass cartridge and replaced it with this one I half expected an alarm to go off! Or the printer to shut down. I just expected to be punished in some way. But NO! It works! Perfectly. Right now I have two of these and two sawgrass cartridges in my printer… and they are all getting along perfectly. What a score! Now what am I gonna do with all of this extra money I have?UPDATE 3/12/2025 I guess there must have been some Sawgrass update because I now have grid lines on my prints and my hands are tied. I’m so upset. A new set of Sawgrass ink is the same price as an Epson F-170 sublimation printer. Anyone want my Sawgrass doorstop?

I was wary to try this at first since so many have mentioned that the update to the Sawgrass printer caused lines if their brand of ink wasn't used but this worked perfectly. No lines and print quality is great.

I will update this review to five stars as soon as I can find a way to contact support and get these cartridges switched out. When I first use them, they worked wonderfully I couldn’t tell any difference between the regular expensive Sawgrass ink in this ink. Since then, Sawgrass made me do a firmware update and now these don’t work anymore So I really just leaving A review here in hopes that customer support will contact me and switch these cartridges out with ones with updated chips. and also to let everybody know Do Not Buy these cartridges if you still see this review because that’s probably because either they are not willing or not able to update the chips. So they will not work for your printer they will print ink, but the firmware will make it to where your entire document has a grid printed across it (so the fault is with Sawgrass being greedy but the results are that we cannot use these until chips have been updated.) I bought my cartridges in May so I’m hopeful that they will replace them and fix this issue soon

I loved this ink it worked wonderful with my Sawgrass 500. However after the master firmware update from Sawgrass this will no longer work. Sawgrass now will put registration marks though the picture. If printing from the Sawgrass print utility! Don't waste your money on Sawgrass products!

I just received my ink today here in Cape Town, South Africa and it works perfectly. I took a bit longer to load the new ink that's because my swagrass SG500 hasn't been in use for a very long time. But works the best and no problem at all.. But I haven't printed anything yet.

This waste ink collector unit does the job. No difference between this and others except the affordable price.

Update - the ink quality is excellent! I have yet to fully explore the quality of the ink BUT when I place the cartridge in my Sawgrass 500, it accepted it and didn't even detect it as not being Sawgrass ink!

I have a Sawgrass SG1000 and didn't want to drop a ton of money for a waste ink collector so I headed to amazon as always. I read the reviews in hopes of finding an aftermarket tank that wouldn't cause issues and this worked perfectly. Not a single problem installing this and no error codes on the machine.
