Soldering Foam Swab

this is a very useful little product.the foam applicators are soft enough for delicate cleaning but not too soft to the point that they excessively flex, bend and fold.the stick is not too stiff but not too flexible either.for more stiffness, just hold closer to tip and for more flex simply hold further away from tip.these are great for detailed cleaning of equipment, gun/weapon cavities, etc.the price is reasonable as well so i'm giving it 5 stars for overall quality and pricing.

I THINK COTTON BALLS WORK THE SAME. I DON'T CARE WHAT OTHER SAY THAT IT LEAVES SOME STUFF IN THE CORNERS, BUT I DON'T BELIEVE That A LITTLE COTTON CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE GUN. IT'LL JUST BURN OFF. IDK THAT'S JUST ME BESIDES I BLOW THE COTTON IF THERE WAS ANY LEFT IN THE GUN. also never heard of cotton swabs scratching metal surface before.

These are great for cleaning or applying lubricant to all sorts of things. Particularly useful for photographic and cinema applications as they don't leave lint and fibers. Also good for gun cleaning.

It's nice to have a foam swab so that cotton fibers don't end up on small moving parts! BUT, the foam breaks up very quickly and it would be much nicer to have a double-ended swab that would last twice as long. I'll be looking elsewhere when these run out.

These are my favorites for cleaning rosin off printed circuit boards (PCBs). They don't leave any fibers or lint. I'm always surprised at how expensive these are regardless of where or how I buy them, but they are worth the cost.

Not a lot to add to the subject line really. I bought these to clean the heads and tape path on my cassette deck and they do a fine job. Handles are plastic so they do flex a bit but that can be a good thing.
