I am forever looking for a place on the countertop to sit my hot curling iron safely. I don't want to touch it to anything that it might melt while it is still hot. When I saw this I decided to give it a try and it works like I had hoped it would. When I am finished with the hot iron I simply put it into the little silicone sleeve and I don't have to worry about it doing any damage. My only complaint is how it is put together. It is just a silicone rectangle that is wrapped around a plastic stand until it forms a circle and then slips over some little plastic pegs to fasten it down. Resultingly, it is pretty easy to cause it to come apart. I have bumped it or knocked it over and caused it to come apart on more than one occasion.

Anyone who uses hot tools to style their hair should have at least one of these to help protect their vanity and countertops. Unlike most silicone heat protection products to place hot irons or straighteners on, this one stands up rather than laying down. Tools can be placed inside the 'cup' while still hot and the cord can be wrapped around the outside hooks that FINALLY someone was smart enough to attach to a product like this. No waiting for the tool to completely cool before being able to store it away. You're able to do so as soon as you are done and can then set it off to the side. The heat protection is excellent, the whole cup/sleeve and stand are thick enough to stand up to a lot of use, and the cup doesn't tip over easily. It's easy to pull off the silicone piece that makes up the cup so that it can lie flat on the countertop. When done, just slide the silicone square back into the plastic stand, put the hot iron inside, and you're done. This is a little pricier than the plain flat silicone mats, but it is so much better and worth the extra cost. I love mine so much I bought one for my niece as she's scorched a couple of countertops. I think her mom was more thankful than she was. I wish it came in colors other than black and grey. Maybe a red or a gold or blue would be nice. Something to let these blend in a little bit more with the decor of various bathrooms.

I have a teenager who is always using hot tools to complete her look. Knowing that there is a place that is safe for her hair styling tools to cool down properly makes me feel a lot better. Having that peace of mind that today means that your house will still be standing there when you get home and it is one less thing I have to worry about. If she uses more than one tool, the Styling Pod comes apart and lays flat to create a cooling mat (genius)! You can free up counterspace by mounting it on a wall instead of placing it on a counter. This creates a safer, more effective bathroom for my daughter; better use of space, easier to keep everything clean and it's even portable if you travel!

I mostly wanted this a holder for the curling iron but after using it as a mat I've become enamored with that aspect as well. It's worth the little bit of effort required to take the mat off and unroll it to be able to protect the sink.

My girlfriend wanted something she could place her straightener inside each morning, instead of laying them on the sink. This is a great option for that purpose.Both her small and medium sized straighteners fit perfectly in this pod. Also, it's quite stable and sturdy.This pod would also be great for curling irons, as stated, based off our experiences.Finally, this definitely handles high heat with absolutely no problem.Recommended5 stars

I am very happy with this product. I was wanting something that my preteen could safely put her curling iron or straightener in while it's hot too cool off so she doesn't burn herself or the counter.I like that she can use the both standing up and also she can take the outer side off and use it as a mat.

Absolutely love this... holds my straighteners , wire etc has Heat protector mat included In stand too..Looks great on dressing table...Highly recommend for price
