A book that has great lessons from Saints that you may want to check out.
Even though my voracious reading passion has taken me on interesting and exciting journeys through space and time, and from the scientific to the esoteric, at my advanced age I am still in search of the mysteries of life and death. This is why when I saw this 238-page soft cover volume on Amazon, (Dailey lessons from the saints: 52 weeks of inspiration and encouragement by Father Brice Higginbotham), I had to purchase and read it.First off, I found this to be an amazing and informative book, not for just for Catholics and the religious, but for anyone who may be interested in the many Saints and how they can inspire and encourage you. This book covers one Saint for each week in the year, except for week 43 where he covers 3 of my personal favorite archangels (St. Michael, St. Gabriel & St. Raphael) for that week. This book, of course, was aimed at practicing Catholics, but this does not mean people of other denominations and religions might also enjoy reading about the role Saints might play in their lives. In conclusion, even though I am a spiritual and philosophical person, I am open minded enough to try and understand mystical and other esoteric topics and I enjoyed and learned much from reading this book.Rating: 5 Stars. A must have for the deepening of your faith
This is truly a lovely book for both who are new to the catholic faith and for those who have been devout their whole life. I have found that the stories of the saints and the interactive activity after each paragraph a wonderful way to grow my faith. As a parent I also find wonderful lessons to use to teach my toddler. I originally bought one for a family member as a Christmas gift, but before I wrapped it I read a bit and knew I had to buy one for myself! Been using it everyday and have honestly learned more through this book than I did as a child through ccd and catholic school.

An amazing resource for spiritual growth!
After reading this book, I learned that Fr. Brice is not only a very gifted pastor and holy man as he guides us on our path to heaven in an inspiring and succinct way, he is able to provide spiritual guidance in the written venue as well. I learned things about the saints in this book that I never knew. Then I was encouraged to go deeper with reflections that used scripture as well as deep probing directives to allow me to experience God in a more contemplative way and always helping me to develop and grow my relationship with God. I especially loved the reflection Fr. Brice provided for those of us who become distracted during prayer: “The next time you find yourself distracted in prayer, imagine taking him/her/it into the hands of Jesus.” In Fr. Brice’s reflection on St. Mary Magdalene he quite gently directed us to look at our relationship with Jesus and ask Him to call us by name: “‘Jesus, I am open. I desire a deep and personal relationship with You.’ Then sit in silence for five minutes, letting Him touch your soul.”

Please create a series!!
We read a passage on the way to school each morning. I love how the author develops the story and lessons over the course of five days because there is so much to be learned from these saints! If you read this review Father, please consider creatimg another volume. Your first book was such a great catalyst for catechesis.

A great introduction to 52 saints
This book is a great introduction to 52 saints, one for each week of the year. The Virgin Mary is included due to her importance in Catholic and Christian history. It's meant to be read slowly with Bible verses and reflection on Scripture. My trouble is I want to race through it. In our restless, hurry-up world, it takes a little time to slow down and meditate on the lessons.Once you get used to it, though, it's a great way to add to your prayer life.

God spoke to me several times this weekend through this book!
I took Fr. Brice's book with me on retreat this weekend and found it to be a very useful reference and in fact feel that God spoke to me several times through this book. I look forward to following it throughout the year. I found it to be well written with great Bible references and prayers. Fr. Brice also gives great prompts to lead you to think and pray. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn more about the Saints and to learn more from the Saints.

Great introduction to the Saints, enjoyed reading
I really enjoyed this as a great intro to the Saints. I became Catholic this past year so I am still new to the saints and this provided a great overview with nice reflections. There are also nice prayers included in the back. Throughout the book they may be suggested readings to go further so it can be a quick overview or made into a deeper study.
