Caldwell XLA Bipods provide a stable shooting support that conveniently attaches to almost any firearm with a sling swivel stud. The lightweight aluminum design adds minimal weight and deploys quickly, with legs that instantly spring out to the shooting position with the touch of a button. The legs are notched for easy indexing to a specific height. There is a connection point for sling attachment and multi-section legs that collapse forward allowing for convenient carry of the firearm. Soft rubber feet provide enhanced stability, while the padded bipod base protects the firearm's forend.

Won’t stay attached to my gun.
Was real disappointed. Usually Caldwell is a good brand, I’ve loved their products. But this bipod was a fail. I loved the height and the leg deployment. However first time out in the field coyote hunting it fell off my gun when I adjusted my position. Luckily it didn’t happen while I was walking with the gun slung over my shoulder. I thought it was my fault so when I got home I tightened it down with a pair of pliers and it felt snug. Next time out I’m getting up to change locations and bipod just falls off. I put it back on, start hiking to my next stand. I was holding the gun cuz I was worried it would come unattached while on the sling. Bipod fell off again while walking. Long story short it fell off 6 times on that trip. On closer inspection, even when the screw that tightens the clasp for the sling attachment is tight the clasp still opens and closes. Was pretty bummed. Overall the bipod is well built, sturdy and of excellent quality for the price. However the fact that it won’t stay attached makes it absolutely worthless. Fix that and I will be the first in line to buy it.I sent it back.

Buyer beware!!
I installed this bipod and took my rifle hog hunting yesterday. I ensured it was installed properly and checked several times during the hunt that it was secure. When walking back to my truck, I was climbing a hill and the bipod (and my attached sling point) came off. Thank goodness I had quick enough reflexes to catch my rifle before it hit the ground and rolled down the hill.Very disappointed in this junk. I'm sending it back. I'm very disappointed because Caldwell is well known for quality products. This bipod almost damaged my $2500 rifle/scope.

Alright
I like the length on them. I can sit on the ground and aim comfortably. I’m not crazy about how it attaches to the sling mount on the rifle though. No matter how much I tighten it it seems to come off every once and a while and needs to be reinstalled at inopportune times. That’s why I give it 3 stars. Maybe it’s just me I don’t know but I have struggled with it a little. Otherwise the quality of the actual material it’s made out of is high.

I figured I didn't tighten it up good and put it back on
I mounted this on my varmint rifle.. First trip out it came loose from my rifle while walking to the stand and my rifle hit the ground... I figured I didn't tighten it up good and put it back on... "Really tight" About the third trip after that , same thing.. Walking through the woods and it comes loose again.. This time my barrel sticks in the mud.. The rifle is a 1980's Winchester carbine in 22-250.. Not heavy at all... For years I had a Harris bipod on it and never had any issues with it... The only reason I took it off, was I needed one a few inches taller..

Useless
It doesn’t even deserve a star. It does not stay attached to a rifle. Even a slight load to a bipod makes it detach from sling attachment. I have XLA and short version from Caldwell and both have the same issue. I would not recommend them at all.

Shiny GOLD Camouflage paint!!!!
Camouflaged with GOLD spot splatter from an airbrush!Nothing shines like gold camo paint. This is ridiculously gaudy!Luckily I do have green and brown paint otherwise i would go through the hassles of returning it.

Long...long bipod! Work for predator hunting.
I use these for coyote hunting. They are a little flimsy but sturdy enough to get good clean shots. The pattern on them is not camo like I thought so I just stripped the paint and dipped them myself. They work great for what I use them for.

Not real Camo
States you will get a Camo bipod. Bipod is of good quality however this is far from Camo. It is copper in brown color with a hint of shiny to it. Along with no green. Just brownish with what looks like paintball dots on it. I should have looked at the pictures closer but I just figured it was a bad picture.

Great quality. Easy to use.
I really like this bipod. It’s on my coyote gun and is quick and easy to adjust to different heights. Locks into notches firmly and doesn’t creep down like my knock off one does. Definitely recommend it for the serious hunter or possibility even sport shooter. It pivots at the gun so if the ground is uneven it doesn’t matter. No fiddling with the legs trying to level out the gun for long accurate shots. Definitely recommend to any shooter. New or experienced.

Not reliable to stay attached with the shoulder sling ...
Arrived in good conditions and should work as well as the previous two I got. This one is for a Xmas gift. I thought the camo design would look better, but it is ok since this is to shoot at long distance, camo dont realy matter. After use a couple of times only, the whole thing (sling and bipod) came off while walking with the rifle on the shoulder. Fortunately it did not damaged the scope or the rifle, because of the snow cover on the round. The same thing happened again shortly after, even though we made sure the bipod and the sling had been attached properly as per the users manual. Cannot trust the sling attachement when carrying the rifle on your shoulder.

Caldwell
The brand is one I trust, I've a couple other styles and like them a lot. The low star count is for the color, the brown is great and the light brown is great, combined they are great as well, unfortunately it looks like I've been shot up with paintballs. Like the bipod, pattern is just plain odd.

Easy assembly
Looks decent and went onto the rifle with no problems. Have not used to fire the rifle yet but feels sturdy and should handle the weight and recoil.

Great customer service
I had a weld break and amazon took care of me, new bipod is just what I hoped it would be. Buy the locking pivot lever it’s easier to use than the knob that comes with.
