Necessary for those wanting to apply to low-res programs
Not only did this book offer an insight into the rapidly growing low-residency field, it also offered profiles of some of the more popular low-residency MFA programs. These profiles included interviews with both faculty and students which gave insight into the individual school's application process.

Extremely helpful in looking for a program that is a good fit. Discovered a 100% online program at a UT campus that no other search had turned up.

helps you decide if MFA is for you
If you're thinking about making the big commitment of a low-residency MFA, check out this book. It's mostly valuable for those people in the early stages, that is if you're deciding whether to apply and if so, where to apply.

Wish it were more organized.
Some of the schools had more information then others. I wish it was better organized than it was...but honestly it is good starting point. I would have preferred if my local library had it but alas they didn't so I had to purchase it.

Helpful overview of low residency programs
I appreciated this book for compiling information that is not easily found in one source. It was incredibly helpful just for the fact that it gives you a list of all the available low residency programs.

excellent resource
Found this to be an excellent resource and the only full-fledged book available on low residency programs, especially in the US. Strongly recommend reading to those considering low residency MFA. HUGE thanks to Lori May for writing this book.

Not very helpful
The book didn't really help me differentiate between the different programs. Poets and Writers magazine was more helpful. The author just quoted various directors of MFA programs, and participants, raving about each school.
