I got these stairs when my puppy, Piper, was about 12 weeks old (first photo). She's almost 14 weeks now (other photos), so I've had them for about a week and a half now. The quality is fantastic, and my pup loves them! It's sturdy enough to support my weight while I sit on the edges of the top, but I don't try to make that a habit because they're not meant to carry my weight. If I ever put them away (put the stairs inside the cupboard part) and I'm up on the bed, she starts to cry. She loves having the freedom to go up and down as she pleases. And it makes my life easier too since I work nights, I sleep during the morning and some of the afternoon while my boyfriend works out of our room. He can't always pay attention to her very closely and she loves being close to me, but she doesn't like being trapped on the bed either. So I can sleep and he can work and occasionally check in on her while she entertains herself. It's a win win! I also love the storage bin it comes with. It makes putting away toys, chews, and treats very easy and it looks very nice. The portability of the bin makes it easy to bring wherever I need it, whether it be to a friend's house while we visit, or just downstairs. Finally, the assembly process was very easy and simple. It came mostly put together, we just had to put the feet, handle, and stair coverings on, and we put the divider and base in the storage bin. That was just about it!

We wanted our sweet doggie to be able to look out our front window, and were searching for something sturdy and as tall as possible. We found this and it was just right! Our little guy easily figured out how to climb the stairs and loves sitting/laying on the ample area at the top to look out and watch the world go by. Now, this is our SECOND purchase of another one, so that he can climb up onto our bed be because he likes to sleep with us, and our bed is quite tall. Works just great for that too! It's not the cheapest one, but it is nice and tall, SO sturdy, and the lid lifts up for storing things inside. It is very handsome too, and looks just great in the house. I highly recommend it.

I have had this since Christmas (it’s now the end of March) and I waited to write a review because my old dog I bought this for doesn't take to new things easily. When I unboxed it I was very impressed with the design of it and how sturdy this thing is. I love that the steps fold up inside or that you can use that space for storage when they are out. The 15 year old dog I bought it for wouldn't go near it. I got it for her because she loves to be on the couch but she can no longer jump up there. The only reason I didn’t send it back is because my cats and my young big dog (who can literally just step onto the couch without the steps anyway) absolutely love it and one of them is sitting on it almost constantly. Well, finally one day last week my 15 year old dog finally worked up the nerve to use it to get to her favorite spot on the couch and she has used it every day since! I’m so glad I didn’t send it back!! If I had to give one negative it’s that the steps are a little bit too shallow and she slipped down them a time or two before she figured it out (she goes up and down a large set of stairs in our house all the time so she can use regular steps just fine). Over all I am very happy with this and I am so glad I kept it!!!

pros: it’s heavy and a good colorCons: the screws were super tiny on the hinges and came stripped already so the stairs aren’t connected at all. The hinges are kinda flimsy so I don’t expect to be using the lid much. The top has a weird sunken in lid which is hard. Not a cushion as shown and beware for tiny dogs that lip at the top makes it hard to jump that last step.The handle is not optional if you want to fold up the stairs but it does not look like the picture if you use it and this is not flat on the floor

Its better than four stars, it’s a 4.8, my minor complaint is that the gap between the stairs and the box is not square which is pretty noticeable considering how nice the quality of this piece is, it looks like a piece of furniture that blends in well with any room. It is certainly well thought out and does not fell cheap, it should bring a lot of value to anyone with a small dog or cat that enjoys looking out a window. Totally worth the money.

I purchased this when we moved to a new home that didn't have convenient seating under the window AND our dog had become elderly and couldn't jump up on furniture anymore anyway.It has worked *PERFECTLY* for what I envisioned. The dog is able to go up and down the stairs by herself (though occasionally I'll hear a thump as she may decide on a shortcut...), and she often chooses it over other available dog beds, etc.She's aged quickly since we bought this ... yet more elderly now, mostly blind, mostly deaf, definitely can't jump, but is able to find her way to her ottoman and go up the stairs and look out. It makes me happy to see her there. And despite its heft, when I took her to a family member to dogsit (she's still there), we packed it up and took it with us. I'm told she's often sitting on her ottoman, next to a window. The inner canvas box with ropes was very handy for loading up containers of her food, treats, and paraphernalia. The stairs folded inside and we threw her blankets in.Our dog is about 23 pounds for reference.EDIT: our dog is still in the land of the living but she used this for perhaps six months … going from not being able to jump or take large steps to not being able to even go up short steps (also, she now can’t see, so that may be part of it). Would I have spent this much if I knew I’d only get six months’ use out of it? Maybe … but maybe not. I’ll be passing it on to a relative with an aging dog that’s not quite as ancient as ours. Otherwise, it was wonderful.

Look, the overall product is fine. But the hinges and screws are just terrible. They look ugly, and fall apart quickly. I finally gave up and just took the hinges off all together. Would return if it wasn’t a pain to pack back up.

We purchased this unit to allow our small dog to sit in the front window of our home and watch the people, squirrels and birds on our street.The unit is very sturdy and easy to put together. There is a very handy storage compartment available to store toys and things when the steps are folded out. It also comes with a very nice bin that can also be used to store toys and things when the steps are folded away inside the unit. It is the right height for the window in the front of our home.The unit is a light grey in colour and does not really fit with our furniture. However, can be tucked away when needed or not being used.The steps are a little small for a small dog with short legs, making it a little harder for them to get up and down easily. Our dog gets a little excited when she sees other dogs on the street, making the top portion seem a little small. So we purchased a second unit to place next to the first one we had purchased and now we have more room for our puppy to move around. It would be nice if the units were modular and could be connected together.Overall these units are quite good, they have a sturdy construction, have a nice storage bin and can be stowed away if needed. They are a little small for an active or excitable dog however with the second unit we were able to make a very nice platform for our dog to monitor the squirrels, birds and the other dogs on the street.
