Bedford Clock Collection Wall Clock, Walnut Brown

We needed to replace an older, similar clock that has to fit in a narrow space. This was our choice, and we're very happy with the selection. The clock is classically beautiful; and the battery-operated clock, chime, and pendulum movement are a real help to me since my arthritic fingers made winding the old unit's spring mechanism very uncomfortable.

This clock fits nicely over our antique drop down desk in our living room. The chime is nice and strong and keeps good time and rings the hours strong. It is far away from the bedroom as not to disturb a good nights sleep and its a great timekeeper for my wife's '20 minutes' afternoon nap on the nearby couch. The clock face is easy to read and the pendulum looks really nice behind the glass. We like the opening on either side of the pendulum which helps move it if necessary and the side openings prevent the chance of the pendulum banging the wood sides.

This clock was a piece of junk! Screws were not aligned properly and every screw had to be either redrilled or had to use wood glue to hold the thing together when redrilling wouldn't work. Then after all that, the chimes do not work - at all. It keeps time and the pendulum works, that is the only good thing I ca say about it. I would have liked to send it back but couldn't because of the necessary wood gluing and redrilling. Amazon usually does much better than this. Truthfully, a total waste of money.

It's beautiful and keeps time. The chime, however, sounds like a 90's MIDI file, and rings one more time than the actual hour (example: nine chimes at 8:00). I will probably be removing the batteries, because I dislike the electronic sound, and the inaccuracy drives me crazy. If it was only $30 I would expect this lack of quality; but for something with a "listed price" of $249.99, and an actual price of $70+ I would like something accurate, that doesn't sound like it came from Final Fantasy VII.

At first I thought it was not going to work as a screw was missing and the other 3 screws which holds the face of the clock, have broken off. So now the left over screws would not fit. I got some new screws and that fixed the issue. The clock look very elegant. The sound is loud and clear. Packaging is not appropriate for this clock. The manufacturer needs to rethink the way they pack these clocks. You can't go wrong for the price.

Just what I was looking for the chimes are good and the finish and quality of the clock are great. Put it together with no problems following the easy instructions.

Clock came well packed. St-up was a little long, but everything worked well as long as you follow the directions.

This clock is a great entry into grandfather clocks. It looks great on the wall and is super easy to assemble. The best part is the price.
