On Bordeaux: Tales of the Unexpected from the World's Greatest Wine Region
M**R
Compilation of many subjects about Bordeaux.
Affordable, and nicely printed brief (some 2 to 3 pages long) chapters written by a variety of experts on several aspects of the wine business in Bordeaux. Some were written as far back as the 1890s.This is not a book for beginners or those looking for simple evaluations of specific wines. Some of the information is well known to aficionados of Bordeaux, but there are many entries that are quite revealing about the history, and inner workings of the wine trade of fine clarets.

Uneven and too British
Almost every author is British. None French? It’s not - as the subtitle says - Tales of the Unexpected but rather too many tales of the expected. Too much on the First Growths and nothing in organic or biodynamic approaches or the vast regions making affordable Bordeaux wines.

Fascinating collection on all things Bordeaux
Arrived very quickly and well packaged. An eclectic collection of easy-to-read, informative and interesting commentary on the wines of Bordeaux and their history. Ideal for dipping into. A handsome volume that looks good about the house. This is the third Academie De Vin book I have bought - am very pleased with all three.

Perfect Early Christmas Gift
Ordered as an early Christmas gift for my husband. It looks a really luxurious gift and, from a glance, seems to contain a wide variety of tales from one of his favourite wine regions.
