NO PAIRING BUTTON ( this is something they should say right on the title of the remote)
Let me start with, there's nothing wrong with the remote itself.However.....After I spent 3 minutes going crazy trying to locate the pairing button (it's in the battery compartment btw) I noticed there wasn't one. This means the remote is INFRARED, not RF or WIFI. The difference? It only works when pointed at the tv, obviously. And if you, like me, have a soundbar in front of the tv it will cover the sensor making it hard for it to work (Need to raise the remote higher to reach the sensor).Again nothing wrong and I'll keep it but I would be surely much happier if I had bought a WIFI one that you can point at the basement if you want and it will still work.As I said in the headline, would be nice they added "INFRARED" right in the title, so one can't get confused.

Great if you can make it work . . . and I can't.
It had no button to "sync" with the tv. . . and it did not sync. I put in new batteries, made sure there were no obstructions, checked the model #, FCC ID#, IC#, and SN#. No info beyond that. The really long model numbers mentioned in the description could not be found. And it just wouldn't work for me. I then bought one at Roku.com for $28+ including shipping and tax. That's allot more money but at least I don't have to throw it out right after I received it.

Basically works well but..........
Our original ROKU remote came with volume controls on the right side of the remote. This one doesn't have that feature which means you need to use a second remote to change the volume of whatever you're watching. Always a pain in the dark. Also, the one touch buttons at the bottom of the remote that change networks are easily and accidentally engaged with a light touch which is very annoying. I finally placed a couple or layers of blue painters tape around the remote and over these buttons to stop pushing them by accident.

exactly as described - tv remote for TCL tv
Since I dropped the remote for my ROKU TCL television and broke the volume buttons, I had to replace the remote. I called TCL and they recommended a private electronics business that charged about $30.00 for the remote, or I could look on Amazon, but I was told that the remote might not pair as well. I decided to check on Amazon. I saw several remotes but upon really looking closely I determined that only 1 had the exact same "front" as my remote ( for much less money). I then called TCL again and described the remote, they checked it with me on Amazon and said that it should be fine. Just put in batteries, hold the power button down for 10 seconds so that the remote could pair with the TV and voila!! - all set. No problems. I thought I might have to enter all the passwords again for Netflix, etc., but it was perfect. A wonderful purchase. Remote works just fine. Thank you Amazon. jc

Not the same as pictured.
This remote works for the 55 inch TCL that I purchased it for. The item I received and the item that are pictured are not the same however. I ordered this specific remote because the picture shown has the same buttons as the remote it was replacing. This remote does not. Had I known that, I would have purchased from a less expensive seller and received the same remote.

Connects on its own
My original remote stopped working, after batteries were left in it for too long. Bought this and all I did was place batteries and point at the tv to get started. Love the the simplicity of things.

Making do
I dislike the preprogrammed choices I didn't realize one was a news channel we don't watch three out of the four channels it's preprogrammed which it two more then the remote we accidentally sent through the washing machine but oh well. It works for our TV and we will make do

Same as original
Honestly I was hoping for a better remote than the original, simply because the original had to be pointed directly at the tv sensor for it to work. But can't really complain, it worked straight out if the package and functions exactly like the one that came with the tvTCL 55s515
