Working smarter, not harder
I work out daily, so I'm pretty sure I'm not getting weaker with age. However, several times lately I've noticed that some jars are surprisingly hard to open. I bought this opener bc it has an adjustment that works on smaller jars as well as large pickle jars. Works great, but since they showed it being used on a wine cork, I tried it for fun on a sparkling wine cork - don't bother on something that small.

Works Very Well
Easy to use. My husband and I are getting older and there are some jars we simply struggle with. This is adjustable so it fits most lids (we have not found one that it did not work on), it grips well, and provides the leverage needed to open particularly tough lids. It works much better than those plastic or rubber grippers. Note: it has “teeth” as part of the gripping mechanism and leaves a mark on the lid, not overtly noticeable, but if you have a decorative jar it will leave a mark on the lid. I highly recommend this product.

Better for smaller jars.
It has opened several smaller jars one large jar it couldn't. Quality is of concern. We will see if it holds up or breaks.

Disappointing, doesn't work like I expected.
Disappointing, concept is good but execution is not. Joints are sloppy. Metal teeth with or without rubber grips don't bite onto metal lids well enough. Tool slips. When enough pressure is applied to grip without slipping the tool bends the lid or cuts into it. I cut a hole in one lid with the tool before it would turn the lid. The sliding part on the two rails is loose and sloppy. The tool only grips at one specific dimension from the top. With some lids this is too short to reach past flip tops or other lid variations. In other cases it is too low and tends to bend the bottom edge of the lid inward instead of turning it. Overall, it looks like it should work great but in reality it doesn't I have to fiddle with it to get it to work and when it does it usually damages the lid.

It works as advertised!
The jar and bottle opener actually worked!!! My cannister's lid is exactly 5 inches across and the tool works up to 5 inches. It was very close but it did the job. I am very happy.

Works but not easy for seniors with weak hand / arm strength
Needed a jar opener for aging seniors with weak arm and hand strength. Most devices are slightly tricky until you get the hang of it, especially since you usually need one hand on the device + the other holding the jar. Decide to go with Eazy Off. Sharing some observations after testing these devices: EZ Off Jar Opener for Weak Hands https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000X6K9J8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Allows two hands to grip the jar. Probably get the most leverage if you place device where arms can fully extend, or on a lower cabinet shelf where elbow is almost 90 degrees, which also allows a little body weight to help keep the jar in place. Find a shelf that's not recessed so you can actually see the edge of the device as a guide to insert the jar. OXO Good Grips Twisting Jar Opener https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZC55TP2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Wide spread of teeth on both clamps to grip the lid. Worked on an assortment of lids. Not easy for seniors with weak arm / hand strength since the offset handle still needs some strength to create leverage, and still need a hand to hold the jar (unless you get a partner to help). For this device, you need to pull (or twist) the handle while still pressing the center spindle with your palm to avoid the device slipping off the lid. Giving it 4 stars because it feels like a solid OXO design except not good for seniors. Master Opener Adjustable Jar & Bottle Opener https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L12PRDZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Ratchet-like design that works but dimples (bites) both sides of the lid. Ratchet provides good clamping force to open the jar. Teeth only one side of the clamp. Need to ensure both sides of the clamp are against the lid when you close (grip) the ratchet, otherwise device slips off. However, not the easiest device for aging seniors with weak arm / hand strength. Jar Opener Can Opener Bottle Opener for Senior, Arthritis Hands and Anyone with Low Strength, Arthritis Jar Opener Get Lids Off Easily https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z8CTTYF?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Despite assortment of openings on this device, it was still awkward figuring out which one would fit a Classico spaghetti lid. Requires some wide handed grip strength so not ideal for aging seniors with weakening hands.
