Memory Notebook of Nursing: A Collection of Images and Mnemonics to Increase Memory and Learning Paperback – January 1, 2011

I just received this book today and I cannot wait to start using it! I'm a 2nd year nursing student and look forward to using this as an additional study method. Many of the illustrations I have found in this book have been used by my instructors in class so it's nice to have my own personal book of them! Very much worth the $30. Pictures are black and white (coloring is an option) but I think it makes it easier to make copies making it easier to locate and take along to lectures instead of carrying around an extra book (because an extra book to lug around is the last thing us nursing majors need! Lol!)

Believe it or not, I read through this entertaining book the morning of my NCLEX predictor exam as well as the NCLEX itself. (Actually, it helped me relax a little bit because some of it is silly) I couldn't believe it - there were almost 10 questions on each exam in which I used the material that I had learned from the book. I already *knew* the material from school, but I remembered it quickly because of the pictures, mnemonics, etc. in the book. I gave it to my friend afterwards to help her prepare for the NCLEX. If you can, buy it!

I am a visual learner and these books (I have 2) are great for me to remember the s/sx of a disease or condition, and they are good quick-study guides. I know there are repeats in the books, but if you'll look closely, some of the information is slightly different between the editions. They have added or deleted some information on some of the pictures, so it was helpful for me to have 2 editions to make sure I had all the information. I'm not sure why they would do that. Yes, the pictures of just rudimentary drawings but they aren't intended to be life-like pictures of a patient. They are meant to be simple, direct and at times amusing which all help you remember the pictures. For both books I took them to an office supply store and got them spiral-bound so I could flip through the pages easier and I could scan them to print off a copy for my notebook. I like to color the pictures but want to keep the book clean.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!! I'm a nursing student and I use this book all the time when I was on Med-Surg!! The pictures really came in handy and made it a lot easier to know that different disease processes. What worked for me is that I would make the picture smaller on my copier and. The write my notes out to the side that way I could review both side by side...the only downside it that I wish it had Pediatric pictures so I could use it for pedi to but it don't! 😩 but it was great for med-surg!

Highly recommend for health science teachers who are introducing higher level diagnostic skills to their students, or nursing instructors. Really helps gives your students easy ways to learn and understand who diseases and disorders impact the body. As a doctor, while I already learned all of this, it was nice to read through and refresh on some disorders I had never encountered in practice. Great for nursing students, as well!

It's ok. It was too much money for its worth in my opinion. It is helpful in some ways. Could probably find a lot of this online. I think it's always better to create your own mnemonics, but there are worth creative ideas here.

Helps me understand many things that you can forget from nursing school and it is a very good visual aid for visual learners but it is precise and easy to understand. i have not colored mine but you can. i believe this volume has more detail than volume 2 since it goes over every thing in a concise manner but i think both volumes are handy to have.

This is the second book in this series I have purchased. This is the updated version and a great supplement to the first book I purchased. It really has detailed images and descriptions and has helped me tremendously in my studies. I highly recommend this book to any nursing student and practicing nurse. It is absolutely a must have!! DON'T THINK TWICE PURCHASE THIS BOOK!!!
