EDIT UPDATE:This is true Damascus steel despite what some others post, and I'll prove it with photos. I used an acid to etch my smallest blade to test. So, let's just put that to rest: this is Damascus steel. The other way to tell is to look at the pattern on your knife and compare it to all the other photos others post on their knives. All are different. If laser caused these striations, then they would all be identical. They are not, they are unique.I was very concerned about purchase since there are literally a dozen or more resellers of this exact knife set who all seem to even use the same photos of these knives. The only difference is the laser brand on the blade. I bought these because they were discounted and the cheapest price other than on AliExpress. I could have saved another $100 by trying them but wanted the return policy of Amazon in case they were junk. To my relief, they are good knives with very sharp edges. I have a set of Wusthof knives I've been using for over 15 years and the rivets holding the handles on are near worn away. I cannot get them as sharp as these knives. The only concern is the bevel is 15 degrees compared to the German 20 degrees, so I have to relearn how to hone and sharpen.The quality along with the fit and finish are really nice.I just want to add that I am pleased with these knives, especially for the price. They look well refined, came well packaged in several layers of wrap and edge protection and come with shields to use when storing the knives so you don't cut yourself.

This knife is a great bread knife, my other is a buck bread knife with kind of a wave looking serated edge alot more rolling than saw style with teeth. This knife seration is very jagged and teethy, it really grabs onto each cut and gives a great clean cut in your bread. It's a complete sawing action rather than a press and slide but I prefer that. Beautiful looking knife as well but getting the job done correctly is usually my go to and looks are second. This does well on both.

These are by far the most beautiful knifes we’ve ever owned. They work great too! They did take quite a long time to arrive but when they did we were very happy.

First of all I am currently trying to get a response from the company that sold this set to me. I have zero warranty info and Amazon won't let me attach a pic to my ticket. I bought this set roughly a year and a half ago. The Santoku knife is my favorite. There weren't any sharpening instructions with the set. I used a counter sharpener and I cracked the knife. Thought it was Damascus steel but I easily cracked it when I was being very careful. I've seen several other reviews asking what the best way to sharpen these knives are. Still waiting for a reply. Not sure if I will purchase a replacement when they're not even really Damascus steel. I'll remove or update this review if I get any response although because of the legnth of time since I bought them I doubt I'll get a response.

The knives are sharp, sturdy, easy to hold and operate.I keep trying to find out from the manufacturer (who claims on its website to offer 24/7 support) to what angle I am supposed to sharpen these, but the requests have gone unanswered for days.Seems like don't count on support they promise, otherwise it's a good product.

I purchased these knifes only to realise the quality wasn’t great. I initiated a return dropped items off at depot and have not heard from Amazon since. No knifes no refund! And no way to contact anyone to find out what happened … so disappointed
