Loved!!!!!
My Review:Wow, wow, wow!!!!! Another great read by the fabulous Rona Halsall. This author is becoming one of my favorites to read. Lately, I have been reading quite a bit of her books and let me tell you I have been loving them all. I can’t put them down for the life of me. I start them when the sun is coming up and will finish them by the time the sun goes down. The characters in all of them are perfect, the story lines are keeping me interested and the endings are full of so many twists and turns. I do have to say though that this one was my favorite so far by her. I absolutely loved the story line. There was definitely more to the story than what the blurb had to offer. I don’t want to say any more and ruin it so that is all you are going to get out of me. I also loved that shocking ending. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, boom, there was a heart attack of a revelation. I can’t wait to read more by this author. I am so very excited for her next book to come out.In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great story. Love the characters and the twists! Half way through it, I couldn’t put it down. Every time I thought I had it figured out, I rethought again! First book of Ronas’ that I’ve read!! Can’t wait to read the others… very good writer and highly recommend this book.

Big mistake !! Author needs more research
This was a pretty good story for the most part. But since the main character was a nurse, and medical and health issues were a major part of the plot, I have to point out a big mistake. Early on a character had a mammogram, and was told she had breast cancer !! NO !! Cancer isn't diagnosed from an X-Ray. It might lead to a biopsy or lumpectomy, then a diagnosis can be made. The "nurse" should have known that. Then it turns out the file was mixed up with another, (unlikely) so the whole plot line was dropped. Don't know why it was included in the first place.

The ex is not really in the book that much
It was pretty good overall but honestly I thought the ex boyfriend was going to be in the story more. But it was pretty good.

Suspenseful
Becca has a nice life. She works three mornings a week and is married to Dean who is doing well establishing his business. They also have a three-year-old daughter, Mia. Although there are some problems in the marriage with Dean always working and Becca suspicious of his relationship with his business partner, Alice. Out of the blue she gets a twitter message from an ex boyfriend that lives in Australia and she starts to consider what she left behind. One night Mia becomes ill but there is no known cause and after a few bouts Becca is sure Mia is being poisoned by someone. From that point things spiral out of control. There are problems with her relationship with her sister, her father needs more care and her sister wants someone else to care for him. Becca turns to Connor, the ex, for comfort.I found the story a bit slow moving. At 55% Mia is still having episodes but we are no closer to the truth. By then I was getting kind of bored and I really didn't like Becca. She seems a little self-centered for instance when her childminder had a breast cancer scare Becca seemed more concerned about how it would effect her. She seems to have a lot of secrets, well they all do, but she is very impulsive in her actions and sometimes I just wanted to slap her. Her sister, Kate, was a bossy personality and I don't think we are supposed to like her. Connor isn't very well developed and I wished to know more about him. If they all would have shared their past instead of keeping secrets things would have been a lot different. At the end we finally know who the culprit is and then BAM! we are in an epilogue telling us how things are a year later.I think the story had a good premise but I felt like it could have been executed a lot better. Did I like the book? I did and I was interested in who was hurting Mia and why.My thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.

The ex boyfriend
A very good read. A story about a young girl who falls in love with a wanderlust. She goes hone and they drift apart. She then gets pregnant with someone else that she marries. In time her marriage falls apart and everyone is after her thinking she was abusive to her daughter. You will like the ending.

I loved the tension building and couldn't wait to find what's going on. The twists were good and had me guessing throughout the whole book.

Intriguing read!
Becca is a district nurse, wife to Dean and mother to three year old Mia, Dean is a workaholic, she's struggling with her stressful job, looking after Mia and tending to her elderly father who has never got over the loss of his wife, Becca's mom. Ten years ago Becca returned home from Australia, leaving behind Connor, a man who adored her but wasn't the settling down type, she promised she would return but never did. Now she receives a message from Connor on social media, he wants to get in touch, she's tempted and it makes her question her life now, is she happy? There's no doubt she adores Mia and would do anything to protect her, and being friends with someone on the other side of the world wouldn't hurt would it? Then Mia starts getting ill and nobody seems to know why, until all fingers point towards Becca, and she realises her past is coming back to haunt her. This is the third book I've read by this author and once again she got me hooked, Halsall drip feeds the plot to her readers slowly like a spider draws prey into its web, constantly encouraging you to believe you've worked out what's going on, then throws a curveball, sending you off in a completely different direction, I was convinced on a number of occasions that I knew who the culprit was but no, she wasn't having any of that was she, and off I went again, back to square one, but that final twist was where my chin hit the floor, I did not see that coming! The characters are well written, some likeable, others not so, and it's a very authentic plot with a great ending. If you like a thriller that surrounds you with intrigue and twists, you'll love this one.
