The Abyss / Alien / Aliens (Fox Award Winning Collection)

The movies are great, of course. The exterior packaging is nice. It's a shame they did not make this with three separate disc cases. The one case is okay, as it does have a post for each of the three discs to sit on. A lot better than some DVD/Blu-Ray 3-packs I've gotten where there are only two posts for three discs.

It's hard to find a decent copy of The Abyss, but the one included here is excellent, in a very generous widescreen version. Other reviews are correct regarding this, though I initially approached the purchase with apprehension. Picture quality and sound are perfect.I heard that James Cameron is planning a Blu Ray edition some time (and the excellent True Lies, too). Not too soon for me!

I returned this immediately because The Abyss was such low resolution (I would guess 480 dpi) that a modern TV decreased the picture size and could not play it full screen - even at reduced size it had low resolution, more like an old VHS tape. I'm genuinely puzzled about other reviews mentioning it is a 'great copy' etc..

Being a big fan of the films of James Cameron I love having 3 of them in one package. On long weekends I will have my own film festivals and this package allows me to to watch 3 of Cameron's best films. I admit that I do have these 3 already, but it never hurts to have a backup copy or one that you can grab for an evening with friends.

Great price for a 2 amazing movies and The Abyss which I have not watched yet so I can't comment on. I'm usually a pretty big advocate of originals but I think I'm an Aliens (2nd movie) fan but Alien is excellent and they really are 2 completely different movies.

This is an excellent box set. The clarity and sound are very good. I'm so glad I made this purchase. Three of my all time favorite movies refreshed and much better then my old VHS copies!

Great movies to view again.

I try to buy multi packs if I can, simply to save room in my DVD case, but in this case it's three of my favorite movies of all time. I got mainly for The Abyss, but Alien and Aliens was an added bonus.
