BEST SLIDER OUT THERE. Period.
The media could not be loaded. Please watch my review video. Basically I have a Youtube channel about cars, comedy, and technology and I needed a slider to make some interesting shots. I read a lot of reviews on other sliders and I decided on the YC Onion. I am very glad I did.Firstly, I want to address a couple of 'bad seeds' in the reviews. :) One person said you have to open the smartphone app in the Play store, and that's not the case for me. I have an icon. Another person wrote a scathing review and I had ZERO such complaints about this awesome slider. What I like:-Flawlessly smooth-You can adjust the speed from 1-100!!! Super cusomizeable.-Blue Tooth (I don't have to tether my phone to it.)-It has a very high quality feel to it. VERY solid. Very sturdy. Not like some of the other brands that are flimsy looking.-You can control it manually or have it automatically go between points you set via your app.-You can do video shots, time lapses, etc.-SUPER and I mean SUPER easy to use.-Super easy to assemble (less than 20 seconds).-Stylish design. I like the black with the red accents on the foot adjusters.-Comes with quality carry case and all the wires, etc. you need.Based on my research, it's the best quality at this price point. I will come back and post some more video.Amazon video quality isn't the greatest. If you want to see my video in high res, I'll update the review when it's on Youtube. You don't need to think any further. Go ahead and buy it. :) Trust me, you'll like it.

I love this thing
Has upped my production value of my shots an insane amount for a comparatively VERY affordable slider.

Great travel slider, but NOT silent motor - quite loud
So, I bought this as our travel slider, and we were shooting a little scripted scene, and even though the sound mixer was at least three feet away, and our talent was like ten feet away, both mics were picking up the "beeee, Beeeee, BEEEEE" sound the motor makes as it revs up and revs down. I think its' the bezier curve attempting to be smooth in its transitions, but its unusable for any actual narrative work. This makes me sad, because it packs down very well. One small note as well, the 3/8-16 screw holes are not equally accessible on the bottom of the ends, which makes it very difficult to mount the slider in the middle, and then put it in a slider stand. Makes it kind of wobbly. If they could just make the 3/8-16 actually usable (right now its right up against the other piece of metal), it would be way more stable.

Quality is good
This has been one of the best slider purchases I've made in the past few years. Very easy to use, quiet, and quick to deploy until 59% after they have quite noise but yiu can hear it if you not focusing on gimpal . It has taken my multicamera shoots to a whole new level (without needing to hire additional operators). And Very easy set up and the carbon fiber is awesome! slider with out motor is works smooth as well . And u can use app to control you gimbal and motor. Compared prices and slide i can give 10/7 but generally it is good slider.

Motor won't reboot upon updating, app very unreliable.
Really well built and designed item. I had a small budget and did a lot of homework before deciding on this item. I purchased it to operate with my weebil s and I really had a lot of hopes that these together would give me a very reasonable motion control option for my camera without spending multiple thousands of dollars. First one I took delivery of, the drive motor failed to reboot after suggested update, so, sadly, I sent it back and purchesed one from Amazon, thinking I'd just gotten lemon. That one showed up with a missing battery charger, which of course I needed, so I had it replaced. What showed up was a completely different slider by the same manufacturer, so, yet again, I had it replaced. The fourth one showed up with all it's parts, which I assembled with the weebil s and though it took me a bit to figure out (the drive points in the app run backwards from how you program it), I had it up and running as a programmable 4 point, 5 axis motion controller. I was super excited. Next day, after setting up some scenes to try and put this amazing combo to work, right at that point the app asked me to update, which I did. After attempting this update the motor on this second device failed to boot up, just like the first one. What a bummer. I want to think that with all the effort, and great design work that went into this device, that they will eventually iron the bugs out. That time is not now though. I really wanted this to work, as there is nothing else on the market even close to what was promised in this. Maybe yours will work, and maybe they'll fix it. Another example of not quite mature enough for market. I may try again with them in a year or two. If they can eventually pull off what is promised, this could be an amazing thing at an unbeatable price point.

Good motorized slider, but unable to control DJI via app (v1.2.1)
The overall product quality is good. It's made with good materials and is well designed. If you're just looking for a motorized slider, this is a sound purchase. However, if you're purchasing the YC Onion slider to pair with your DJI Ronin stabilizer, then there are some things you should know.1) You'll have to purchase the YC Onion Interlink Controller and a NP-F550 battery to mount and power your Ronin.2) The YC Onion app needs some work (at the time of this review v1.2.1). I was able to control the hotdog motor through the app after the firmware update. However, I was unable to control my Ronin-S via the app. While I could search and connect to the Ronin, I could not open the UI. This is the main selling point of the slider for me. I'm sure they'll work out this issue, but until they do, you may want to hold off on purchasing the YC Onion motorized slider.I am planning to post a video review once I resolve the DJI control issues.
