Size:2. Large(Framed) | Color:Starrucca Viaduct Jasper Francis Cropsey (February 18, 1823 – June 22, 1900) was an important American landscape artist of the Hudson River School. Trained as an architect, he set up his own office in 1843. Cropsey studied watercolor and life drawing at the National Academy of Design under the instruction of Edward Maury and first exhibited there in 1844.Cropsy traveled in Europe from 1847–1849, visiting England, France, Switzerland, and Italy. He was elected a full member of the Academy in 1851. He went abroad again in 1856, and resided seven years in London, sending his pictures to the Royal Academy and to the International exhibition of 1862.Returning home, he opened a studio in New York and specialized in autumnal landscape paintings of the northeastern United States, often idealized and with vivid colors. Cropsey co-founded, with ten fellow artists, the American Society of Painters in Water Colors in 1866. Cropsey's interest in architecture continued throughout his life and was a strong influence in his painting, most evident in his precise arrangement and outline of forms. But Cropsey was best known for his lavish use of color and, as a first-generation member from the Hudson River School, painted autumn landscapes that startled viewers with their boldness and brilliance. As an artist, he believed landscapes were the highest art form and that nature was a direct manifestation of God. He also felt a patriotic affiliation with nature and saw his paintings as depicting the rugged and unspoiled qualities of America. Jasper Cropsey died in anonymity but was rediscovered by galleries and collectors in the 1960s. Today, Cropsey's paintings are found in most major American museums.

Lovely, but 24x36 canvas is NOT true to size
We ordered the extra large, unframed Bierstadt giclee print of "A Storm in the Rocky Mountains," and it is lovely, but the finished canvas size is not quite 24x36. We bought a gilded 24x36 frame from Hobby Lobby for it, and used canvas clips to mount the canvas to the frame, but there is a gap most of the way around the canvas inside the frame, which we plan to cover with black electrical tape to make it less noticeable (you really only notice it when the light is able to shine through). The true dimensions of the canvas are 23 5/8" x 35 7/16".

Poor quality - bubbles appearing - save your money!
Initially the painting looked great, however bubbles started appearing after awhile (of course after the return window has ended). Recommend to avoid as the quality is obviously bad and not worth the money.

Decent but over priced
The print is eye candy, but it looks too bargain-basement to me. And I was taken aback by how chintzy the frame is, too. I guess it's not that important cuz the frame looks good anyway, but what a surprise. Over all I like it but I think the item is waaaay over priced, by about $40. I would expect to see this item at Walmart for no more than 29.95. I'm going to keep it, but only because I had a good month financially. One positive I got to mention, the packaging was outstanding.

It’s as beautiful as it looks on line
I’m returning this beautiful canvas because the back of the picture is slit. The nox was good but when I took it out I noticed in the back it looked like a sharp slit occurred

Beautiful
Gorgeous piece of artwork. I thought it had a glass covering by how it looked online, but it does not. Was pleasantly surprised that the absence of glass does not detract from the painting at all. And it's easier to hang as the painting is very light. It looks beautiful on my wall and fits in well with any decor. The online images are very accurate. Highly recommend this painting.

Perfection
This beautiful painting is so stunning and spoke to me since I have Danish roots and lived there studying architecture. I had reservations about purchasing something online since most of our art is commissioned. Not only impressed with the content, there was such attention to detail in the packaging. They even enclosed a pair of gloves to hang it which could serve well now in gardening. I rarely take time to write a review. A++++++

Exquisite
I bought this to create a little vignette for the master bedroom between the master closet and bathroom with a French chair and jewelry armoire. It is absolutely gorgeous. It picks up different light depending on the time of day. So elegantly framed, and so easy to hang. Of many online purchases, this is among the ones I am most happy about. A lot of wow factor but very elegant. This is a very bad phone picture, but the result is beautiful, and you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful!
I have been looking for the perfect art piece for our dining room wall and knew this was it when I saw it. It's more perfect than what is pictured. I love it. I will have it framed at the local frame shop. The frames offered with it where not what I had in mind.
