Nintendo Selects: Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Wii Standard Edition

We owned and beat Super Mario Galaxy 2 several years back, and eventually traded it in to use towards another purchase. Now that it's back as a cheaper "Nintendo Selects" version, I pre-ordered and got it for $16 (after prime pre-order discount) through Amazon. Even at the normal price of $20, this game is worth every penny and then some. ESPECIALLY to those who have never played through it. This is truly one of the greatest games of all time! The graphics, sound and gameplay are all phenomenal. It holds up very well in 2016 and can be played on the Wii OR on the Wii U. If a second player wishes to join in, they can use a Wii remote to collect stars and fire them at enemies to assist player one (although there is no co-op otherwise). At any rate, I highly recommend this game to anyone from ages 7 to adult. Children any younger may struggle with the platforming difficulty. This is a magical game - thank you Nintendo for re-publishing at a cheaper price! PS-- As with most games these days, there is no physical manual included.

This is an amazing game! I love the way that the plot all forms together into one big story! The boss battles are incredible! They make it so fun to explore your way through planets to save the princess. One thing I will say though, is that the two player mode is kind of dumb. They made it so that your a little star, and you spin to defeat enemies. But you follow Mario the whole time! Even with that setback, this is a great game, and I would recommend this game to any kids who want to have a great adventure with Mario.

I loved the first Super Mario Galaxy and I was very impressed with the story line, the characters both old and new and the graphics. And I am sure I will love this sequel. The best part about all the Mario games both classic & current you never know what to expect. For some reason I always go for the bad guys, I guess I kinda feel sorry for them and want them to win. But there is Mario who I want to win as well. Anyway, I know I will love this game as much as I did the first one.

Story: Mario is back at it again trying to save Princess Peach from the claws of Bowser. We have a return to the Super Mario Galaxy formula and they add several gimmicks to make it a sequel. We see Yoshi and Luigi join the supporting ensemble and each have their time on the spotlight as the game progresses. There's nothing much of story when it comes to Mario games but there's a connection to the first game that proves a little under utilized.Graphics: The galaxy games are all about showcasing light and the use of gravity in their levels. Mario manages to continue raising those standards in its levels. We see plenty of classic enemy models we haven't seen since the SNES days and play a key role in various levels.Gameplay: This is where the game shined. The first galaxy was already a blast to play but this sequel improved on that. It was an absolute joy playing with Yoshi and The ways we progress through some levels had critical intuitive sense written all over it. This is a great development tool for young minds and will challenge them to think outside of the box. This is particularly true if they seek to accomplish full completion since the number of hidden stars are almost immeasurable.Overall, Super Mario Galaxy provides another great return to the world of galaxies across the universe. The developers clearly had plenty of ideas to do a sequel and the new mechanics pay off in great way. You deserve to play a game like this to remind you of your inner youth and also to challenge yourself in the tricky platform that deals with gravity and the right hand gestures.

My 8-year-old daughter and I love to play this together. I play as Mario and do the majority of the hard work. She plays as the Luma. The second player feels very involved and every accomplishment is a team effort. At first, she is just randomly clicking around and not helping a lot but, as the game progresses, she is helping more and more. I love the implementation of the co-op mode!

I ordered this brand new and this did not come new it’s dirty the pages are ripped it looks warped

My six year old boy loves this. It came quickly and in perfect condition. It is colorful and fun. Two people can play. One person plays Mario and the other plays the helper star who can attack and stun bad guys, grab coins and star bits. The star automatically follows Mario and can not fall.

My kids were so happy that I replaced this game. Their old version was destroyed, and they had never finished the game. Fun to play when they have some downtime.
