I am happy
It fixed my car which was a VW Beetle. It never stayed fixed for long at all. This part made my lights, wind shield wipers, turn signals, air conditioner/ heat and horn all work. All of these thing's went quit working at the same time and it fixed them all. I was thrilled to get it fixed.

Great part - a great problem solver
Great part - a great problem solver! Before you order, make sure you chose the right part (check vin!) - don't just assume that the Amazon pairing is totally accurate (like I did). This product is the perfect solution to tight, stressed wires at the ignition switch! Thx!!

Chinese. Quality is bad.
This product fits. But this a cheap unit. The wires in it are not rated for the current that flows to the mk4 switch. This is the 3rd one I’ve bought.Tried this so I didn’t have to pay the $30/wire cost to do it the right way.You can use the plug itself for the repair but the wires and connectors won’t last. Cheap stuff.I’ve cut farts with more quality then these wires and connectors.I’ll supply photos of the type of wire and connector needed, compared to this unit, to actually fix the issue with this plug melting out. This plug is $30. OEM wire plus connector is $30 a piece plus shipping. You can see the quality difference between the two.Save yourself some money and do it the right way the first time. Or you’ll go through these like Candy.

Be careful using this as a direct replacement
Replaced the melted plug on my 2002 VW Beetle ignition switch. Using the foglights spiked temperatures to over 150F on one of the wires and it fried my ignition switch for accessories, and melted the plug. Anyone facing the same issue should look to putting fog/headlights on a relay since they both don't have one and run all the power through the ignition switch and headlight switch. Horrible design by VW.Word of caution with this plug, the wires are vastly undersized for the current that will flow through them. They appear to be 16-18 gauge wires used when at least 5 of the stock wires use 14 ga wire. The wire that fried on my switch had at a minimum 220 watts going through it which would fry 16-18 ga wires in no time. I removed all the wires included and removed one connector end and replaced the wire with 14ga and crimped/soldered it on. All the other original wires/connectors were fine so just removed from the old plug and inserted into this one.Great product outside of the undersized wires. Would be better to just receive the plug and connectors separately if possible.

fits, but garbage. Wire gauge is WAY too thin!
Thanks to VW's ridiculous design, high current runs through the switch and requires a thick wire. The ones that come with this are dangerously small and I would NOT recommend it. I ended up just pulling all the wires out and putting new ones in.
