The door catch fits flush inside door so you would need a 3-5 mm gap.

Am I right that this product don't need a door handle and spindle to work with? It is not for locking a door. It is for stabilize the door?

Whether you need a door handle or not depends on the door frame. In most homes, the door frame only allows you to push the door open in one direction (using the ball catches). You need a handle to pull the door in the other direction, because of the door frame.
