Good quality product and more robust/adjustable than the type that are a plastic roller on a spring. More substantial than I was expecting - the roller ball is bigger than a standard marble (if these still exist!). The photos on the website suggest you can get away without a chisel but even for a basic fitting you'll need to countersink the non-ball side and for a neat job, or if the door hasn't got a substantial gap between it and the frame, you'll need to countersink (rebate?) the rectangular pieces on both sides. I was very happy with the result - which was on a substantial door. It wouldn't hold a front door in a heavy breeze but wouldn't be far off

Very nice pair of ball door catches. A good point to make is that you can make minor adjustments to the protrusion of the ball which helps with the fitting. Having fitted two of these I would definitely recommend using your own screws as the ones supplied are a very poor quality and the head snaps off when screwing into wood (which is a pain as you end up with a broken screw in the location where you want to screw in). If you have your own gold/brass coloured screws then it is a good item to buy. If it weren't for the screws I would have given it 5 stars.

I needed to replace a failing weak internal door handle latch. Ordered a replacement latch not realizing there were different lengths, got the wrong one, Reassembled the original latch whilst wating for replacement. Got right length replacement only to find it was fatter than original. Tried to chisel out wider but realized that I now ran risk of splitting wood. Purchased an electric file which indeed made latch hole wider, but the file jammed and belt broke, gave up and reassembled failing latch again, I then saw this catch on Amazon and decided to try it. The striker plate was the exactly the right standard size, only one screw hole slightly in a different position -easy fix with matchstick plug, Latch itself completely covered original reamed hole, drilled two new screw holes, and job done. New latch looks good, covered up my botches, was completed in minutes and works really well. My only concern was could the ball bearing shift position after repeated opening/shutting.? Decided to adjust latch t to right tension, and then use a smear of locktight glue to stop to prevent any possible movement. I give this product 5 stars all round except for sturdiness which I haven't had long enough to evaluate. I wish I had used this replacement in the first place.

Used these instead of chiseling normal catches in door and frame. Worked a treat. Easy to fit. Material seems strong, time will tell if they work. Good price.

Easy to fit and worked as intended. I did think the mechanism to adjust the degree of protrusion of the roller mechanism was a bit loose and suspected it may twist over time, so after setting to the correct distance I dropped a small drop of cyanoacrylate glue in threads to fix in position. This seemed to work okay.

Habe den Schnäpper in die Balkontür eingebaut und funktioniert total gut. War sehr leicht zu montieren und ist sehr kraftvoll. Würde den Schnäpper jederzeit weiterempfehlen.

I purchased these for a set of French doors I installed. They work really nice for a pull and latch set up so you don’t need turn knobs as they just click into place by themselves in the plates provided. Good quality and easy to install. They adjust easily and stay that way. The magnetic strength is good. I would order this product again.

Worked perfectly for our laundry room doors. Old hardware of another brand was worn out, we were able to replace with this and even provided adjustability to offset the wobbliness of one of the doors. Will use this brand for other door hardware going forward.
