This futon mattress was purchased mainly for extra seating when we have out of town visitors. It is sturdy and is very comfortable to sit on. I've actually been using it instead of my usual chair/ottoman! I like the inner springs that give it much more support than the foam mattresses we have had before. And, the hinged springs make it instantly fit to the futon frame in the seating position, no sliding and it trying to form into the bed position like the foam mattresses. No need for pads to keep it in place. We've only had it a couple of weeks and haven't used it for sleep yet. I covered it immediately with an old quilt to protect the fabric. The fabric was a good quality as well with no observed defects. All in all, it fits our purpose perfectly.

After reading some negative reviews, I was very relieved to see the final product.It arrived a day early. Despite my written instructions to bring to our porch, FedEx, left the heavy package out by our curb.It expanded immediately when unrolled. I have no doubt it will conform to the 8" description. Firm and supportive, not too hard, not too soft...The linen stone color is uniform throughout; not with the subtle stripes as shown in the listing. The third picture in the ad, with the fabric alone, is a perfect match. Very rich looking!It fit our full futon frame perfectly. The back of the mattress rises nicely above the back frame. Hugging one's head, it is comfortable and relaxing - even to a tall person.It's so nice to receive what was promised, and even better, when it exceeds my expectations!

The mattress seems to be pretty decent. Not too firm, not too soft. It was easy to roll out and set up. Pretty much like a full mattress. Only complaint is that I’m pretty sure I got the wrong color. I ordered linen stone, but this looks more like a gray to me. I would go through the whole process to return it, but it’s more of a hassle to return this massive mattress. It’s not a big deal, and I can always use sheets over it if it really bothers me.

Highly recommend.First, I would ignore any reviews that complain about the mattress being difficult to fold into a sitting position. There is a label underneath the mattress which tells you to orient the mattress with the label towards the front, under the seat. If you follow those instructions, the mattress folds easily into a sitting position.The mattress itself is heavy, I'm guessing 50 to 60 lb, which makes it a little tricky to move for some people if they don't have the upper body strength. But that weight is a good thing. I have a feeling this mattress he's going to last a very long time. Unlike some futons I've slept on in the past, this one is made for durability and comfort.I took my time setting it up but it was so well engineered and the instructions were so good, a beginner would have no problem. I would suggest, however, approaching setup with a cordless drill or electric screwdriver that has the correct hex bit for the job. It will make things go much faster for you. Always a good idea to have those around the house anyway.

Very impressed with this futon mattress. Great quality, easy to set up and looks great. This is our 2nd Kodiak futon mattress that I purchased for a different futon. Will definitely buy again for our camper we are restoring.

I don't know why I didn't purchase this mattress sooner! It is very comfortable to sleep on! I can toss all of the mattress toppers I bought to make my old hard mattress comfy!

This is okay.

Comfortable mattress with foam and springs. It doesn’t love to fold up into the couch part of the futon, but it does do it and works well when it’s up.Very cute!! I love the pattern. The colors are vibrant. The stitching is nice. It was a little Spidey, but I’m pleased with it overall.
