Good, bad, ugly.
Good - Mount itself looks sturdy enough. I wanted the right side mount to keep as much weight towards the pin/bumper of the vehicle when the tire carrier was opened. ( I purchased a left side in the end because of the following issues and it is holding up so far).Bad - However the provided U bolts did not line up with drilled holes. I had to go to the hardware store and picked up two 5/16 x 2" x 5" and appropriate washers/nuts. I then mounted the gas can mount and found you could only open the tire carrier 90 degrees, any further would impact the rear right body work by the tail light. Because of this if you have a hardtop with a tire carrier basket, you are unable to open the rear glass window. The right mount might work with a soft top or no top but you still will only be able to open 90 degrees, so be sure to put a rubber guard or stop so you don't munch your body work on accident.Ugly - I live in California and had to ship this back to CSEOFFROAD located in New York. Cheapest rate still cost $104.59. CSEOFFROAD did refund me the item and did not charge a restocking fee however they denied to reimburse me the shipping cost. Even though I have pictures I said I could send of the issues as proof of a defective item and the fact you are unable to fully open the tire carrier or open the hard top glass window with this on, which is not provided in item details. Called me the wrong name, I politely corrected her, she then misspelled my name in the following email right after. Poor customer service/attention to detail.Luckily Amazon stepped in and helped me out covering the shipping cost.

Does Not Have Correct Angle
This arm does NOT fit most soar tire carriers, and it doesn't fit ANY of the Hummer brand tire carriers. This jerry can bracket "arm" does not have the correct angle to properly hold a can in place as the can doesn't fit "level" or flat. The can platform is at about a 45° angle because the mount arm isn't at the correct angle when bracing the mount arm to the spare tire carrier. So we had to cut off the platform part for the gas can, re-fabricate the angle on the arm by cutting a new angle then welding the two pieces back together again, and then re-powder coat the entire thing. *which I do NOT believe this thing was powder coated to begin with, I believe it was only painted.

Be careful what you "wish" for...
I placed this item in the Amazon wish list. I did not choose to purchase it because I wanted to verify it would fit my Smittybilt bumper rack first. I discovered it would not after a little research on the Jeep Forums.Well things got interesting when it magically appeared on my doorstep several days later.Either the Amazon fairy godmother needs a new magic wand, or their internet geeks mixed up the html code for their site's "wish list" button links.Anyway, I got stuck with this rather large and expensive to ship item and the credit card was billed. After nearly 2 weeks of time-wasting customer service wrangling I had exhausted all patience with Amazon and Discount Jeep Parts. When I wasn't being ignored, they each took turns blaming each other and the solution was never reached beyond me returning it at my expense.I realized I would have no resolve so I just sold it on Craigslist and lost a small portion of my money. The item itself seems to be of sturdy build. However the design needs improving to be used for anything but their specific bumper rack. There are many similar racks on the market. This can holder attachment will not work with the Smittbilt SRC rack.I initially asked the company in an email several months ago if it would fit my rack, I gave up after a series of frustrating emails that in the end never answered my simple question. I researched the Jeep forums for an answer. When I got stuck with it, I checked to be sure, yep. It does not work. I didn't install it but it was obvious when I held it up that it smacks right into the side of the Jeep when you would open the rear swing arm rack.

Good but not Great
Strap has plastic buckle. No adjustment for angle or distance from tire. Overall Good.

Works great. If I only used a soft top
This will fit on a Smitty built tire carrier, but you may have clearance issues if you have a hard top. My TJ rear glass would not open with the right side gas can holder. I do have the left hand holder mounted on my smitty built tire carrier with no issues. Works great. If I only used a soft top, I would have t u e right side as well. Very well built.

XRC Gen1 beware.
Will not fit a Smittybilt XRC Gen1 with a 37" tire. Many forums and such recommend these for the XRC which is why I bought them, but be sure to measure first.

Well made and very durable!
I added this to my Jeep CJ in early Spring 2012 and it has held up very well. This bolted onto my custom bumper/tire mount without any hassle, even though they are not the same brand. Recently, I noticed I had can support mounted an inch lower, so I moved it up. I expected the finish where it had been initially installed to be marred at least somewhat, but the powder-coat still looks new, with not a scratch or mark. The quality on this rack is excellent! I don't have the top bin (yet) but that may need to be an addition next Spring.
