Knitter's PrideDreamz Fixed Circular Needles 24", Size 7/4.5mm

I am a beginning knitter -- at 67! I'm knitting a hat on circular needles for the first time, and found it grueling because the stitches continually bunched up on the wire between the needles so I had to stop to rearrange the stitches all of the time. Since my mentor feels that my stitch tension is nicely loose, she thought the problem was my needles. It was! Once my work was on the Dreamz needles, I am sailing through the project. No bunching, and my work just slides across the wire and onto the left needle. Thank you, fellow knitters, for your reviews mentioning how smooth the connection between needle and cable is, and that the tips are silky smooth. I might have purchased other needles instead of these Dreamz.The beautiful coloring of the wooden tips is a joy as well. These needles are a little pointier than my bamboo ones, and I find it easier to knit as I am not splitting the yarn as often when I insert the needle for the stitches.A tip: the needles are quite slick; some reviewers mentioned the stitches coming off too easily. I haven't seen this as a problem while knitting, knitting goes faster. However, when I put my work down, some stitches did slide off. I do not have those plastic need tips yet -- but found two wine corks work great. I impaled one on each needle and can safely put my work in my basket.

The yarn being used is a combination of mohair and silk. Certain stitches are harder to do because of the shine on the wood. It becomes harder to place the yarn on the needle for stitches like: k1tbl (need a fuller wood needle). Otherwise this needle is wonderful.

These knitting needles feel good in my hands. They’re smooth and lightweight. Easy to work with.

These are NOT interchangeable point needles. Sharp points, made of attractive "marbled" plastic of some sort. There is a very smooth transition where the needles meet the cord. I bought two lengths for a project because all my other correct size needles had knitting in progress on them. I am thinking of buying a few other sizes to add to my travel bag of knitting supplies.

Love these needles. Smooth with just a little grip. Sharp points and smooth joins. None of the usual circular needle issues. Flexible cable. I usually use add I turbo. Same quality but not as slick. I'm buying more. My only words of warning. Handle with care. The wood will snap if you step on them or sit on them.

It does what it is supposed to do.
