Keep them coming
Another fun crossover. They should keep pumping these out or do a full run as a full cross over story

A great sequel to the first Batman/Turtles epic!
After the amazing success of the first Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover, we got the inevitable sequel in 2018. And to ensure that it's worthy of the first Batman/Turtles team-up, the same creative team is back. James Tyrion IV is back on writing/plot (with Ryan Ferrier this time), and Freddie E. Williams II is once again the artist and Jeremy Colwell is the colourist. Batman/TMNT II reads and looks like the last adventure, with writing and artwork that compliments all the characters and their worlds.Obviously, the sequel can't replicate that surreal, historic moment of Batman meeting the Turtles for the first time, but James and Ryan deliver a plot that expands on the winning formula that brought the Dark Knight/Heroes in a Half-Shell together. And they decide to focus mostly on Donatello for this one.Months after the defeat of Shredder and Ra's Al Ghul, the Foot Clan has been divided into several warring factions back in New York, and the Turtles are struggling to keep the peace. During one of these missions, Donatello receives a bad beating which knocks his confidence. Seeking Batman's advice, Donnie decides to open a portal to Gotham, but the timing couldn't be worse! Batman & Robin are trying to stop the League of Assassins (also divided into warring factions), and Ra's has now been usurped by Bane! Donnie's experiment goes haywire when he gets attacked by the Foot, and accidentally unleashes the Man Who Broke The Bat on New York City!Immediately, Batman/TMNT II scores high-points for both the development of Donatello and the use of Bane. Ever since Knightfall, Bane is one of my favourite Batman villains and his role as main-antagonist in this story is easily the best use of the character in years. Everything that made the villain so appealing in Vengeance of Bane and Knightfall is on full-display here. Bane is superhumanly strong, powerful, virtually unstoppable, yet is also a master strategist that rivals Batman's own intellect. Insanely ruthless, yet eloquent, Bane still sees the world as a prison he was born into, and must either conquer it or perish. The depiction of Bane is spot-on. What he does to the Turtles, his machinations, the sheer threat Bane poses...it's all true to what the villain should be.Donatello's arc in this crossover provides a lot of heart to the story, and it's nice to see Donnie get a chance to shine. Normally, it's Donnie's genius that has saved the day many times but here his confidence as a ninja takes a serious battering and makes him question himself like never before. You truly feel for Donnie here; his mistakes, his desperate need to redeem himself, the downward spiral he finds himself on...Donnie's turmoil and desire to prove himself has never been explored like this before. Not only does it make for great character development, but it essentially makes Donnie the leading protagonist of Batman/TMNT II.Other pluses? Batman remains the same grim, brilliant, resolute Dark Knight, yet his humanity shines through (especially in moments with Donnie and Leo), Raphael and Robin (Damian) have a great rivalry throughout the crossover, April has a lot more to do this time around, Bebop and Rocksteady are actually here this time around, the likes of Kara, Batgirl, Nightwing, Baxter Stockman get to join the party, and it all builds-up nicely towards an epic conclusion.Whilst maybe not quite as amazing as the first Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles meeting, this second-crossover is still a great sequel that will satisfy all fans, and builds-upon the winning relationship between the Caped Crusader and the Ninja Turtles. Lots of heart, lots of surprises, great story, great battles...and a great dollop of Bat/Turtle Power! Looking forward to Volume 3!

Volta do time de autores
