GREAT!
I really like this little bin for my kitchen compost. I bought the small one and thought it might be too small, but it's actually perfect. I like to empty it every 3-4 days anyway to prevent any smells, and that timing is just right with this size. It's not airtight, but the lid fits well and I haven't noticed any issues with smell. It was a good pricepoint for the quality, and it's so convenient! I love that it hooks onto the cabinet door, and that the lid hooks onto it. When I'm cooking I just slide the lid over, it hooks on easily, and I can just scrape veggies right into it from the cutting board. It doesn't look bad hanging on the cabinet, either. But my kitchen is still being remodeled, so I haven't completely decided where I'm going to keep it long-term. It's also easy to hook and unhook from the cabinet, so I can move it around the kitchen as needed. Another bonus is that it has a retention ring to hold bags in place. I bought compostable bags and the ring keeps them from slipping down, and my bin stays perfectly clean! It says dishwasher safe, but I haven't had to test that out yet.

Perfect for tiny kitchens
This all began because I wanted a compost container that I could also bang my espresso basket on without breaking the whole thing to pieces. And it had to fit in my tiny kitchen. Ceramic? Too fragile. Stainless? Not actually stainless and rusts like crazy. Filter-top lids? The filters aren't replaceable. Step-to-open lid? Huge waste of space. Plain bowl on the counter? Compost only goes out once a week and I don't have room in the freezer.Enter: This plain-as-mud but perfect-in-every-way sturdy plastic bin. It's just a plastic bin with a lid. But it's the perfect size. And the lid hooks onto the side so you don't have to find a spot for it during meal prep. There are no little handle crevices on the lid so there are no nooks and crannies to worry about when washing it.The bin itself has a little removable plastic rim that would effectively hold a compostable bag in place if I needed one. (PSA: Not all compost facilities will take compost bags—please check before bagging your scraps!) The carry handle rotates easily and folds down nice and low so it doesn't stick out. There's a really easy attachment system if you want to move it off the floor. Haven't tried the wall adhesive mount, but the hanging mount is SUPER easy to get the bin on and off of. I store the hanging mount inside my kitchen drawer, and then hang it off the front of the drawer and then slide the bucket onto it when I'm prepping. Makes it really easy to just toss scraps into.Lid has a nice snug fit into the bin, too. I usually leave the lid slightly ajar to let a little circulation through, but when I have to leave it on tight to keep a smell out for a day or two until the compost pickup comes, the lid works like a charm.I never thought I'd write a review about a plastic bucket, but this little bin ticks every single box I needed it to. And I can bang out my espresso basket on it!

Must to have organic waste in freezer
We use this to store organic waste in the freezer area since the garbage truck comes only once a week and we don’t want to throw into garbage can which would smell for the whole week. Works excellent! Looks neat, it’s very easy to clean. No smell obviously since it’s in freezer. It holds a small bag like the grocery store ones.

So Convenient!
This was a good buy. If I had known earlier that there was such a thing, I would have bought one a long time ago. So convenient. I am really happy with it.I line it with a plastic grocery bag when I'm preparing food. I like the retention ring that clamps the bag in place, keeping it from sliding down. The lid fits snug.I usually throw all my potentially smelly things in there, like the empty bacon package. I sweep vegetable scraps, etc. right off the counter. Egg shells, etc. go in there too - all without having to drag the big trash container over. The bag is then tied & changed out. I don't leave it in there long enough for the fruit flies to find it.Also, some have said they thought they were getting two containers because the picture shows two. You are getting ONE. They are showing that there are two ways to use it: hang it from a kitchen drawer, or use the sticky-back tape to mount it to the wall.I prefer to hang it over the drawer, so can't comment on the sticky tape method. Some are also saying it's cheap, thin plastic & breaks easily. Yes, it's plastic, people. But It's not thin plastic. I think it's well made. You can't overload it & expect the plastic handle to bear the full weight.I think this product is being mis-reviewed by some. That said, I love mine!
